Just For Fun: Show Off Your Fluorescence!

Fun thread! I like playing with fluorescence.

Forgive me, I know nothing about fluorescence in CS... does the ruby (or spinel??) have fluoro? I'm unsure looking at the pic.

This is fun. What gorgeous stones.

Here are some of my stones with fluor. I also have another Mahenge spinel and some other diamond bands that have some fluor.

pink sapphire band and French cut diamond band

One of the diamonds on the side shank has orange fluor. The center stone is purple spinel.

These CS pieces are taking my love of fluoro to a whole other level!

It's a boring, rainy Saturday so I broke out the black light. Got some interesting results.

Cool!!

Are they Coloured Stones or diamonds?

I had this ring (affectionately called ‘Ginger’) made a few years back with a non-GIA certed brownish-yellow or yellow-ish brown old mine cut diamond I picked up on DB b/c I’d always wanted a champagne-colored diamond. I haven’t worn it in some time, and may have to pluck her out of this setting and reset her into a RHR that shows off her chunkiness & color more.

Anyway, I forgot to check this little critter for fluoro, so decided to do so this morning while having a bling-cleaning party. Looks like it displays some yellow fluorescence to me, though I’m not sure what ‘level’ it is, given I’m just using a cheap little black light and it’s really hard to manage the diamond, the light and my cell phone camera.

This is what QE4 looks like with fluorescent lighting. This diamond has SBF and I'm fascinated with it.

She doesn't looks hazy or milky but she does have a blue glow in bright sunlight sometimes.
