I recently came across some concave cut Prasiolite at a local gem show. Thought I''d make something inexpensive and fun. It''s an 8mm round with 8 3mm white sapphires in sterling. Hope you enjoy.

cool!
I always love ''fun'' jewelry!
Could you take some more pics? what color does the center look like, here it looks pretty colorless.

Really cool.

The center stone is a light green. I''m going to try to play with the white balance to get rid of the yellow in the photos I''ll try to take some more pics tomorrow.

Ooh, that will make a nice RHR. Can''t wait for the new pics, it looks like it might be minty green, but it''s hard to tell.

Cool! I would love to see some outdoor shots (I bet the green would come out more!).

What a neat idea!

I''ve also done similar type rings with larger colored topaz center stones and either white topaz, white zircon or white sapphire accents. It''s a big look for little dollars.

oh tony, we need to see some topaz pics then too!!!

Here''s an 8mm round dark pink treated topaz w/ white topaz accents in sterling. Still haven''t gotten to take outdoor shots, cloudy & rainy.

wow Tony I really love this pink topaz!! so vibrant!

Ok, finally got the time to get outside and take some pictures. Here is the 8mm round w/ white sapphires. I also took pics of two other rings I made. One pear concave w/ white sapphires and an 8x10 oval with green tourmalines.

Thanks

Tony

I really like the Topaz. It has such a clean crisp look to it.

Are you a jeweler? Or are these rings just for you to wear?

Very nice!!! Love that oval with the green tourm pears!!! And the pink topaz...YUMMY!!!!

My jewelry making habit, did I say habit, I meant hobby, started about three years ago with me buying a loose gemstone parcel for my then 18yr old daughter for Christmas. One thing lead to another and I started making jewelry for friends, etc. Now I support my habit by selling to a local store and at small local craft, church shows. I really enjoy coming up with different combinations or materials. I also provide a program for our Girl Scout council where I go to a troop meeting, talk about jewelry, gemstones, etc, then the girls make a necklace.

BTW, my wife and daughter benefit the most. Whenever they wear a new outfit they go "shopping"

I really, really like the pink topaz (did I say that already?) and do the white sapphires sparkle??

I especially like the oval with tourmalines (I go nuts over tourmalines) -- no, wait! I really like the pear too!

I also have a small hoard of collored gemstones. Are you creating your own settings for these rings?

Up to now I''ve been using settings available from many of the companies listed in these forums, Stuller, Tripps, etc. I''ve drawn out a few custom designs. If things progress maybe I''ll eventually have some cast.
