Keep Ame in your thoughts/prayers, please!

Ame is in the hospital about to have her appendix removed. She woke up in terrible pain yesterday and has been in the hospital for about 26 hours now.

The silly girl has been e-mailing me as she awaits her surgery, so I guess she''s not TOO miserable at the moment.

She says the IV is the most painful thing she''s dealing with right now.

She''s using a cell phone that has internet access and Sprint television on it!

The doctors are hoping that they can remove the appendix laproscopically, but they will not know if that is possible until they get inside her.

So keep your fingers crossed for her that she does not have to have the huge abdominal surgery and that they get it out safely and easily.

Patty, thank you. Please let Ame know I am praying for her. BTW, when I had my appendix out in 1983 they just cut me. My scar was about 2 1//2 inches. She''ll be fighting fit in no time.

But, we need to know if she is also checking PS in addition to email. If so, she goes to the head of the thread re "You know you''re a PSer when ..."

We wish Ame successful surgery and a quick recovery.

One note:

Patty did not mention that Ame, unfortunately, is no longer a PSer. We terminated her membership after she fail to give us an explanation on the comment she have made about Whiteflash and some of the members of our community. We will not tolerate baseless accusations and gossips - it''s against the rules.

Get better Ame.

My daughter had to have her appendix removed when she was 5 and we were on vacation in Bar Harbor, Maine. She was too little to have a laparoscopy. Having had surgery by laparoscopy, I can assure you that that''s the way to go! Good luck!

Nope, my DH had laparscopic gall bladder surgery 4 days ago and he was told no jewelry, watch, etc. It's a liabiity issue for the hospital in case something goes missing (or someone tries to claim that something did). Also, laparascopic surgery is the way to go. He felt fine a few hours after surgery. His only real restrictions are no lifting of 10lbs or more for two weeks and no driving for a few days. In fact, he feels so good he's getting ready to go use the snow blower on the approx 10 inches of snow we got.
 
MomofTwo, I''m glad your hubby came through his gallbladder surgery so well. Wow, just 4 days ago and he''s out snowblowing today? My hubby had his gallbladder removed that way 7 years ago but I don''t remember how quickly he recovered.

I have not heard from Ame yet and don''t expect I will for a while. I hope it all went well. I''m thinking that some of Ame''s sassy attitude will bode her well in a hospital setting.

As for her rings, you know there is no way those babies went to the hospital. There is WAY too much metal at a hospital.
