Hello Everyone Please disregard this unless you have an awesome octavia Asscher and post with the name KENNY on this forum. Unfortunately this is the only forum in existence that does not let me send a personal message to another user.

Are you reading yet Kenny?

I just wanted to thank you personally for designing such a kick ass ring for your OCTAVIA.
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/the-worlds-first-octavia-ring.136357/

I have my girlfriends stone on the way to Bruce Boone

We went with a tiny, but very good Asscher .54ct G IF 4.53 x 4.54 x 3. table 61% and the depth 66.2% excellent symmetry and excellent polish it's a signature series from Blue Nile and to our untrained eyes it seems to be flashy for its size.

Hopefully if all goes well he will make a slightly smaller and a little more feminine version of your ring. The only modifications we intend to make are polish throughout and hopefully add a little more radius to the outside edges the middle will be flat cut like yours.

Obviously there was a design change from your first tension to this one. Now that you have this one in you hands is there anything you think should be different about it? Do you think it will look bad polished everywhere like we are planning? It's stil in transit to Bruce so it's not to late to fine tune.

thanks for your help.

Xavier

hi pyrofly

a quick heads up....

you''re definitely not allowed to post email addresses in PS, so you might want to quickly delete this from your post using the ''edit post'' function before you get a stern talking to....

i think your diamond sounds great - good luck with your ring!

:)

Thanks Xavier.

Polish or brushed finish is personal preference.
I will say my 3 year old polished finish is getting a little beat up so if I were going to do it again I'd get it all brushed.

You can ask for the brush finish that can be restored by you in your kitchen with a 3M Scotch Brite pad.

Tell Bruce more precision fit and a nicer finish at the four grooves where metal holds the diamond would be nice.
I'd normally only say something like this in privately but PS does not allow private communications.

I'm sure you and yours will love the ring.

Moderator deleted my email address before I had a chance to edit the post... I honestly have not read the rules to this forum maybe I should so I do not get in touble. I only posted it to try to give you a venue to reply off the forum.

Now you have me a little worried by "... more precision fit and a nicer finish at the four grooves where metal holds the diamond" Do you mean it as a diamond coming loose issue or just a not as perfect as you would want it issue. I''d hate to see the stone disappear because the grooves were sloppy. I know that machining these rings creates really exact tolerances maybe even down to the .001 range. I would assume that The tolerances on the grooves holding the stone would be similar. Is it maybe because the 45 degree corners that you designed as per your sketch are done in a semi-freehand style?

In my case with the smaller stone the tolerances I assume will be even trickier. I will talk to Bruce about this and may go with the square posts if it''s an issue.

Thanks for the input. I''ll post pics of the ring when i get it.

Xavier

I''m just very picky.
No the diamond is not loose.
