I was in an abusive relationship for three years. I left him and never looked back - changed my e-mail address, phone number, moved miles away to Orlando, continued with college and rebuilt my life.

One day, about a year after I left him, he tracked down my e-mail address from a (former) mutual friend, and e-mailed me. Turned out that he was also living in Orlando and wanted to see if we could be "friends". I deleted it, and the e-mail went in the trash folder, never to be seen again. Never heard from him again.

Delete the message, block him, and double check to make sure it''s done

Definitely stay away. You know how much he hurt you, so why even consider letting him back into your life? I would pretend like I never saw the message, and ignore it.
