My wife and I have been shopping around for an antique looking right hand ring. We have narrowed it down to just 2 or 3 and are having a very tough time making the decisions. We wanted to take some pictures of the rings, on my wife''s hand. We wanted to have them at home, to browse over and make the decision. All the custom jewelers, who had hand crafted, one of a kind rings had no problem allowing us to take the pictures we wanted to.
The problem came when we entered LeRoy''s, a store I would call a fairly common nation wide chain, to take a picture of the ring on my wife''s hand, you would have thought we were robbing the store. Both of the sales clerks were EXTREMELY rude and stated that it was against thier company policy. We were very polite to them, thanked them, and left. Luckily we were in the store a few days earlier and spoke with someone when we found the ring and have the rings item number so we can get it from another LeRoys if we want.
Am I wrong to think that it should be acceptable for a couple to take pictures of the ring on my wifes hands to help make decisions? It''s not like this was a one of a kind ring. I would expect this kind of reaction from one of the independant jewlery stores who make thier pieces one at a time and unique.
Also, would anyone have any information on how to get in touch with LeRoys upper management, above the store level?
Thank you so much for your help and for listening to my rant!
Also, If anyone would like to suggest some on-line stores that you have dealt with successfully I would appreciate it. We are looking for an antique looking right hand ring, Princess cut center stone, which will sit up kinda high. We would like it to be multi leveled with alot of fillagree (not sure how to spell that) and detail. It can be white gold or platinum or a combination of gold and white gold. Thank you in advance for all of your help and effort!
