Turns out there is such a thing as klutzy dna. I knew it!

Just as my dh keeps telling me…slow down. And I’m taking it to heart!

How about you?
Any klutzy behavior?

This. Is. Me.
But I’m doing my darndest to change it

I fall off curbs.

I fell down so much when I was a kid that my mother took me to the doctor. Extensive testing revealed that I was a klutz. If I focus on what I'm doing instead of having 10 different conversations going on in my head, I have a better chance of staying upright and not banging into things but it's a struggle.

This is I also.

Come to think of it, I'm pretty klutzy too.

Same experience. When I was younger I fell all the time. I have scars on both knees to prove it. I was always bleeding from something I did. When Greg met me he wanted me to start riding a bike again. Well let me tell you I was a good sport but got bloodied many rides. And like Matata if I concentrated it was better but I still fell a lot.

Now as an older adult I worry about it because falling could shorten one's life. One fall and that could be it.
I look at my dad who fell 19 months ago and is now immobile. Still sharp minded but a prisoner in his body.
A fate I do not want to meet

Just yesterday (and what prompted this thread) I tripped on my front porch stairs feeding our feral cats. I fell backwards and I injured my coccyx. It's all purple, red and blue and I cannot even cycle right now. We just turned around from cycling (the pain was unbearable and believe me I tried) and we are going hiking...wish me luck. Oy to the vey.

I do believe I have a klutzy gene. Both parents have broken many bones from falling and I am the apple that didn't fall (haha first time for that) far from that proverbial tree.

To all my fellow klutzes...be safe out there. I am with you in spirit

I fell twice in 2023 while simply walking (which I still do to this day), I tripped over my own feet the first time, 2nd time no idea why I fell and I ended up in neuro ICU twice...yeah been klutzy my entire life!! I blame it on being somewhat Ambidextrous, just googled that, never thought to do that before, according to an article I am reading I am actually Mixed-handedness...

I currently have cuts on my right index finger and thumb. I keep telling myself to slow down when using kitchen knives.

Yep, me too - one instance of an emergency room visit was from cutting an avocado... knife slipped, and several stitches needed! :lol-2:

My knees are covered with scars. Unfortunately, in the 60s there was a theory that we who were called "accident-prone" were subconsciously trying to hurt ourselves. Thank goodness that now we know that some of us are just ... likely to have accidents.

My daughter is in her third decade of life. She last skinned her knee when she was 18 months old. I skinned mine, at her school, at 46. It was charming and embarrassing that for months after, my solicitous and small child accompanied me around school saying "Watch out, mom, there's a step here."

I also cut my hand trying to cut an avocado..and I passed out from it. No ER visit as it wasn't too bad but there was a lot of blood
I now leave the avocado cutting to Greg lol. Some people (me) should not be near a knife ::)

i have a burn on my tummy right now from mashing potatoes

Feel better Nicky..speedy recovery

Ouch, hope you heal quickly

Wow I never knew that. Can't use that as my excuse however as I am right handed

I had no clue that was a theory back then. My family knew I was a klutz because I got it from them lol. When my dad was in his 30s he broke both legs. Definitely in our DNA
