I'm nuts for jewelry, but I cannot afford those genuine gemstones.
Then I can only make by myself.
The material is from pandahall.

Wow, that's a very creatively designed ring! Do you also have them in other colors?

Sorry, red color is my favorite. I only have red color, but I may try other colors. :D

Roxy - you can do this at home. Just get some cord and then look on YouTube for "macrame". This is such a simple thing to do. Basic instructions are:-

Cut 2 lengths of cord - the second cord should be twice the length of the first cord (ie to make a 7" bracelet the middle cord should be 14" and the other cord should be 21" or more).

Get a board and two clips (one at either end) - something that will hold your strands in place.

Position the smaller cord from top to bottom of the board and anchor using your clips. Make sure that you leave at least 2" hanging over the end at the top as this will be used later.

So now you have a board with your middle smaller cord running down it (this is called your lazy strand).

Now with the other longer cord tuck it under the lazy cord so that you have half the cord on one side and half the other.

With your right hand make a loop and take the strand over the middle lazy cord (so it looks like a P).

With your left hand take the left hand cord and tuck it under the bottom of the P and take it up through the loop of the P.

Pull both cords tight (but not too tight).

Now do the same but on the other side - so this time you're making a backwards P.

Repeat until you get the length you want.

If you want to thread on a bead (like the shamballa bracelets) simply thread the bead onto your middle lazy strand and move it up to to touch the bracelet knit you've just done. Simply carry on with your macrame as above and it will automatically go around the bead trapping it in!

This above knit gives a flat look like the ring in the photo above. If you want a twisted effect you simply knit on the same same i.e. do a P all the time and never do the reverse.

Hope that makes sense. If not have a look on YouTube because there are simple instructions on there. This will cost you peanuts to make and it's great fun! I taught my 9 year old and she makes great Shamballa bracelets now!

Thanks a bunch LD! You instructions are really helpful, now I just need to start practicing. Thanks! :wavey:

You're most welcome! It's actually very rewarding and doesn't take long to do. If you buy some genuine gemstones in bead form you can create some gorgeous looking bracelets, necklaces and anklets. The key (and I forgot to mention this) is to keep the same tension when you pull both cords so that your "knots" are the same when they're forming the ring/bracelet. Hope that makes sense.

BTW you also need some glue for the endings. I didn't tell you how to end the bracelet but that's not difficult either and is simply a variation on the above to create a bracelet that slides open and closed. I'm happy to post instructions if you can't find any on YouTube.
