Hi PSers,

Is anyone else noticing their knuckles getting bigger but their ring size stay the same? I don't know if it's a sign that I need to stop washing so many dishes by hand or is it just the nature of getting older but it makes me nervous on ring sizes for eternity bands. Overtime, did anyone go up up in ring size due to their knuckles? I went up a 1/2 size already on my right knuckle but it might still be changing. :doh:Thanks in advance!

PierreBear,

Not only do you need to stop washing dishes by hand, you need to stop doing any type of housework! ;)2

Ok, on a serious note (although you should stop the housework, just in case :mrgreen2:), yes, my knuckles have gotten bigger. I think its fairly common with age, but this thread might reveal otherwise.

I think full eternities look stunning, however, a lot of people seem to leave part of their eternities stone-free (or engraved) to allow for future re-sizing.

Yes same here. Part of it (for me) is arthritis, part of it Raynauds and part of it a nervous habit I’ve had picking at my knuckles stretching them out

Sorry you are dealing with this as well and I agree with December-fire. Must stop all housework immediately!:cheeky:

What has helped me. Putting in those sizing beads or sizing bumps and sizing the ring up a bit and that seems to work well for me.

My left one has gotten bigger. I did hit it hard, but it never really went down. I've had good success getting my rings on with Connoisseur jewelry cleaning GEL (has to b the Gel). Also, this might not be true, but by wearing rings all the time, I feel like I have stemmed the expansion of my knuckle. I'm afraid it's age :eek2:

Yes and I have arthritis too. Currently size 4.25 to 4.5.
First full eternity band was 3.25 that I had reamed out once but it no longer fits. Another full eternity band size 4.0 also doesn't fit. About 5 other channel set eternity bands with various sized diamonds, pave pink sapphires, pave blue sapphires are size 4.5 but I don't wear them anymore. The shared prong asscher band that I wear with my pear ering is size 4.50. My newest ring the 2.79 F-VS1 CBI is size 4.5 but is spinning around in the cold weather so I have been wearing it with a plain band on my RH to push it up my finger. I plan to wear it as a ering after I get my CBI 3-stone ring in January 2018.
So bottom line, yes from size 3.25 in my mid 20s to size 4.5 in my early 60s (but I have also gained 20 pounds too, lol)
