A couple weeks ago I must have knocked my knuckle on who-knows-what. It hurt at about a "1" on a scale of 1-10. Problem is my wedding rings still do not fit! I've tried ice, massaging it, leaving it the heck alone and NOTHING seems to make it go completely down. I can fit sz 4.5, but my ER :knockout: and eternities are 4.25 and they won't go over it! My real worry is that seeing as I'm a "stack-a-holic" I'm talking about a whole bunch of bands not fitting after 2 weeks. I know I've read knuckle war stories over the years - ANYBODY have any ideas on what I can do? It's definitely not seriously injured or infected. Thanks!

warm water for the ring and soap and cold water for the hand?

Thank-you Stone-cold!! I'm now wrapping it in very stretchy band-aides intermittently and that seems to be relieving some of the edema.

A long salt water soak may help also. I lost my first wedding ring by wearing it while skin diving off the coast of Okinawa many many years ago. The salt desicated my fingers to the point where it slipped off and I never even felt it go.

Wink

Interesting Wink - thanks I'll give it a go!

Well, I went back to look how long ago I wrote this post and I gotta tell ya - it's 3 months now and the problem is not 100% resolved. The pain is gone, but my knuckle still is a bit large - there seems to ba a teeny tiny minute callous on either side of my knuckle - I think it's from putting my rings on/off all day- I have to admit I have 21 wb's and I mix/match all the time. I did this to myself - eek! I got a new band for mother's day and had it sized a little bit bigger b/c of this knuckle issue. I'm keeping my rings on now and rubbing the knuckle with Aquaphor. Word to the wise............

Eeek!

Motown, I wonder if you have a bone spur there? Once from overuse typing I believe, I got a nobby growth under the skin at the base of my finger, where it meets the hand, on the joint. The nobby part stayed for a month or so, was painful to touch, then went away!

There's still hope!

My local jeweler uses a laser welder to resize eternity rings. I can post his info. if you are interested.

Sure - I'd love to hear about it - thanks!

Just FYI, Kelpie is not a big fan of them:

I think it's not unsual for every vendor to have its detractors. I had a bad time with WhiteFlash, but a lot of people have had good luck with WF.
