Hello,
I'm new here but have been reading through some of the posts and many of you have such great advice and opinions to offer so I'm hoping you can help!

My boyfriend and I are beginning the search for a ring and I've decided I'd prefer a sapphire over a diamond. I'm more concerned about having a ring that I love than whether it's natural and so I'm thinking that lab created might be the way to go. I would want to set it in a platinum setting with real diamond side stones as well (I'd rather put our budget money into a top quality setting.) For the stone, I'm looking for a medium blue closer to a Kashmir or cornflower than the darker blue navy colored stones.

I was curious if anyone has had any experience with the sapphires at betterthandiamond.com? They look beautiful to me but almost too good to be true! Do you have any other recommendations? Anything I should be concerned about with using a lab created sapphire in a "real" setting?

These are the sapphires I've been considering (most likely a cushion): http://betterthandiamond.com/categories/-Avarra-Lab-Grown-Sapphire/Kashmir-Blue/ and http://betterthandiamond.com/categories/-Avarra-Lab-Grown-Sapphire/Dark-Ceylon-Blue/

I greatly appreciate any feedback!

Thank you.

Hi Runnergirl15

The colored stone forum is for discussions about natural stones. Discussions of synthetic belong in the lab grown forum. You might ask the moderators to move your post to that forum where you will be able to get more helpful responses.

To clarify we do not allow discussions of synthetic gemstones on Pricescope. We do have a forum for man made diamonds only at this time.

We do not allow discussion of simulants at all, or those stones that are meant to replace a diamond or other real gemstone.

This thread will be closed now to comply with our policies.

Thank you for your cooperation.
