Ladies, Do you know of any gentleman sporting a diamond ring IRL?

I wish they did too! I showed my husband a Leen Heyne ring, trying to get him to take the bait, but he said absolutely no…

I find a little bling on a man quite attractive! *Sigh*

Here’s the ring I tried to get my SO to like…how cool is that?!

Oh I like that very much!

Turns out my late father did although I never saw it on him and didn't know until he passed. It was an estate ring -- gypsy-set solitaire maybe just shy of a ct (?) and set in polished yellow gold with a lot of taper. I think he wore it on vacations with Mom -- pretty sure she must've talked him into it and he would not wear it in our home town where he was famously low-key. He wasn't heavy but he was built like a football player (and was one at one point) so it's too big even for my thumb :mrgreen2:. Maybe a big toe some day...

I don't associate it with him but I wish I did. His plain-gold wedding band, otoh, is all "him." And you could probably pass a quarter through it with room to spare...

Yes, my dad wears a narrow platinum band with a small diamond, may be 10pts max. kind of like this: dadband2.jpg

I actually asked my dad via FaceTime to take a picture of his ring and send it to me! Love modern technology…my dad is an 80 year old retiree who is probably more tech savvy than me! Here is his actual ring, not quite like the ring above, I forgot about starburst and reverse taper. They will be married 50 years this coming January! I think this was a very modern ring in their day.737E401F-C20A-4A3A-A8EF-A5411CF6F382.jpeg

I asked my husband if he wanted a diamond ring and showed pictures from this thread and the only style he was interested in was a Gypsy set ring with a starburst :kiss2:

I'd love a diamond right hand ring, maybe in the ACA 1.6 - 1.8ct zone. Have always had difficult time zeroing in on a setting.

I'm not a lady... but my uncle used to have this ring with a very large diamond piece. I'm not sure if it's real, though.

My dad wore a diamond gypsy set with starburst pinky ring in yellow gold for many years. He had yellow gold cufflinks, a matching Swiss made yellow gold watch and a chunky yellow gold identity bracelet (very 1980s!).

When he died I took my original princess cut engagement ring stone and had it set in a double loop pendant using the gold from his old ID bracelet. One loop representing my dad and the other my husband.

I still have his (gigantic) gold wedding ring. It’s probably 10mm or more thick and I almost get two of my fingers in it! I’d love to have it repurposed but I just cannot think of anything to do with it, it’s so huge.

My father wore a diamond pinkie ring. But he had very pimptastic aesthetic sensibilities. He also manicured his nails, and would say things like “yous guys.” I think it was an eccentric front meant to deflect his intelligence. (He was a genius.)

In my yout, I knew a man much like your father. I was a much younger recently former Marine and still "somewhat" tough. I knew two things, my friend was MUCH tougher than I ever was and he was incredibly smart. He moved back east more than thirty five years ago and we lost touch. Thanks for the memory.

Wink

Yes, two of them. Both wear the rock as a classic solitaire with thin band and high setting. Classic engagement ring.

Nice thread.

This one's mine, aka my "guymond ring."

My platinumsmith was cooler than cool. Without my knowing it, he put my initials into the design. One of the nicest surprises I've ever had.

I don't.

My dad used to have a band with small diamonds and I am pretty sure he lost it.

My other half would not wear any item if jewelry, even if you paid him for every wearing. He doesn't like watches, either. He finds all of it uncomfortable.

Hey John, weren't you thinking about getting an additional ring with three diamonds, with the diamond color grades spelling your initials?

I love that you remember this =)

Yes. Ultimately, a three stone mens' ring: J (0.50ct), M (1.00ct), P (1.50ct). In progress. I'm not in a hurry. I'm not lollygagging either. :cool2:

That's a really cool project. You must do a "Show Me the Bling" post when it is completed. :)
