Let it all hangout -- The Grumpies, whinies, complainies Get It Off Your Chest Thread....

@missy That’s so funny you keep your temp at 80 degrees! I turn my heat down to 67 at night but sleep with a heavy comforter and socks. :lol-2: During the day we keep it at 69-70.
She gets supplemental iron every day. Her thyroid numbers are fluctuating but they keep an eye on it and adjust it depending on where it is. She complains they’re always taking her blood..

I put the thermostat at 62-64 in the bedroom. But I keep it warm downstairs. For me and the kitties lol

Licorice our pet Guinea pig died this morning. Didn’t have the heart to tell the youngest as I didn’t want him to start his school day that way.
The oldest knows because he looked this morning to make sure she was still alive.
In true old lady form the last few months she’d been spending her days asleep, looking dead until you gently blow on her or offer her a treat. Then she’d spring back to life. But not this morning.

I’m so sorry @baby nurse..I had a Guinea pig growing up. His name was Chopper.

I had three guinea pigs growing up. Cornelius, Casey and Damien. Do you know they are the only rodents with lips? I always kissed them on their lips. LOVED them so much and the squeaking noises they made.
I loved kissing them.

This was Cornelius.

This made me smile— thank you for that, @missy . I had no idea they were the only rodents with lips. My kids will laugh when they hear!
Cornelius looks like he’s got great self esteem : ). Love the little paws.

i know that when this therad first started hugs were frowned on but i thunk its time for one especially for @Babyblue033
and it has to be socially distanced for @MamaBee 's mum

Thank you for your kind words, it means more than I can say.

@Babyblue033, I’m sorry, it’s hard going through life with someone who makes unpleasant situations worse.
We have perfectly normal days then something stupid will trigger a total blow out. What makes me so upset is how silly this is in the big scheme of things, I mean we are in the middle of a pandemic for the love of God.

I felt sick all day today from anxiety which of course made me feel more anxious.

Wishing everyone a pleasant and peaceful day.

No @missy The windows are sealed..I guess it’s a safety issue..She’s always cold so she wouldn’t open it even if she could. She tells me that they freeze her in there.I bought her an indoor thermometer. It registers 72 which is plenty warm. When she lived by herself in her condo she had it set about 80 degrees. We would dress in summer clothes under our coats in the winter. We would be gulping bottled water like we were on the Sahara..It would never be warm enough for her. My mother was the only person I ever saw wear a sweater over her bathing suit at the beach.

oh poor mum
i wish i could send her some heat
here old folks home are kept at 24 degrees C because i think that WHO recomend that temp
visiting both my mum and Gary's dad it always felt too hot
i googled that is 75.2 in F so your mum would still be cold
can she still dress herself ?
is she wearing enough clothes ?

we have these arguements in our house about who is or isnt a pserson
i say cats are people just not human people
guinne pigs are definatly also non human people

She has a furry cheetah bathrobe and a fleece wrap. I also bought her two comforters and a quilt for her bed. They normally keep it warmer than that but it was a cloudy morning so no sun. Everyone else there wears short sleeve scrubs. It’s healthier to keep it on the cooler side. I imagine the heat spreads germs. I have no idea where that came from.

i guess some people just feel the cold more:(2

@baby nurse sorry about your Licorice. Guinea pigs are so sweet!
@missy I also had 3 guinea pigs growing up! Flopsy, Mopsy, and Ezio Pinza--my mother named the latter after the Italian opera singer because he was the loudest/most vocal of the bunch.

I spent 40 min. troubleshooting an issue I thought I was having with chrome when all it was is that a site I regularly visit changed and won't let me view videos unless I turn off ad blocker. sigh.

Nothing good ever comes from meeting a guy in a bar.......

I hate wage disparity between men and women. I’m in a more senior position with much more experience make less than a man with much less experience and my junior. No, it was not because he negotiated a better rate. It was offered. I had to fight for every pennies. FML

It’s infuriating. Women make $.82 to $1 a man makes I believe. My daughter is facing a similar situation. Makes my blood boil.
@cnkav love your avatar pic. Beautiful set!!

I'm so sorry, that sounds terrible and heartbreaking for the kids.

I'm having a rough few weeks. I've come off of a med I've been on for year and a half since the accident. It was to control the nerve pain but it had added benefits as an anti depressant. So I've been dealing with increased pain plus just feeling really down overall. To top it off, husband barely noticed for weeks that I've been miserable.

Husband also decided to quit his job. We are 42, have 2 young kids, mortgage and car payments. I recently got promoted with a raise so we're certainly in a better place than before if we become 1 income family. His reasoning for "retiring" is that he wants this "better life" where he can focus on spending more time with kids, helping out more around the home, etc. We had a huge blow out last night because I wasn't being "supportive" and he accused me of being materialistic because I'm just worried about the money aspect and losing the financial comfort. That must mean I don't prioritize my family and kids enough. None of these arguments are new, he's been using them for years to make me feel guilty, and it's his way of forcing decisions down my throat that I do not agree with. I don't agree with him needing to quit his job to be a better father, many people do their best with much worse situations. I don't agree that I'm a bad person because I don't want to lose financial security and comfort, we came from nothing and worked hard to get here, so what's wrong with wanting to enjoy it? What's wrong with being able to better provide for my kids and give them what I didn't have?

I don't have any fights left in me so he'll do what he wants to do in the end. He doesn't see the irony of his path to happiness and peace being filled with anger and resentment. I would laugh if I didn't feel like crying.

I’m so sorry to hear. My husband did the same. Quit his job when our 1st born was 6 months old. And he has been unemployed since. All financial burden and stress fall on me. When I asked him to go back to work, he blamed me for not being supportive and materialistic (I do like my jewels). We live in an expensive area but it is close to my job. His idea, sell the house and move a a remote area and retire. I’m way too young to retire (39 year old). And I have worked so hard to get to where I am in my career. So he wins. He is officially no longer employed and continue working is my choice/ ambition. Btw, he does not help with house work or cooking. He enjoys playing with the kids and competing online video games.

Small grumble. I am kicking myself for not ordering the big case of soda crackers my grandparents like when I had the chance. Got busy and meant to get to it the next morning. Forgot for two days. Now out of stock. Available for $$$ from a seller who has mediocre ratings and even the good (4-5 star) are that only half of what was promised showed up. A 5 star review is that she ordered orange juice and got apple juice instead but likes that too so doesn't mind. Seriously!?! They were out for months last year because my mom and aunt didn't see them (when they bothered to look) in store and didn't think to order online. (My aunt has online orders arriving almost daily so it isn't like she doesn't know how...) They only have now because I ordered a few boxes for them. Looks like they are almost out. Think I may have to risk the bad seller and just have them come here so I can make sure all arrived correctly.

ETA: these crackers are huge to my grandparents. They always have them. Always. Eaten every day. Always THESE crackers. Not a different one. These. The sad look when grandma told me they were out last year was too much.

I met my husband in a bar..hahahaha It was a closed New Year‘s Eve party at my friend’s family bar. He rescued me from some guy that wouldn’t leave me alone. I never met my husband before that. He made sure he stayed with me the whole night so the other guy wouldn’t bother me again. Real smooth…The funny thing is my husband is so far from being smooth. He was a good actor that night!

He knew when it counted!!! Good going, Mr. MamaBee!

Not a grumble, but an update to a grumble.... I think I got hold of the crackers! Ordered them. Supposedly in stock. Will see if they show up or I get an out of stock message later.

Yay! Your grandparents will be so happy! You’re a good granddaughter!

Hopefully my wife would disagree! :lol-2:

Actually, we worked for the same Company, and knew each other by sight although we had never spoken. Our meeting at the bar was just a very fortunate chance encounter!

I suspect she already had her eye on me otherwise I would have gotten very short shrift! :lol-2:

im such an idiot
ive been craving the golden kiwi necklace like the Dutches of Cornwall has
it only just now dawned on me the price is exluding the chain

Awe, thanks! I ordered four of the four pound boxes so they should be set for awhile!

My uncle just passed away from Covid complications. Almost 80 days in the ICU and he couldn't recover. His poor lungs were destroyed.

He was one who was on Facebook screaming from the rooftops how this was a government conspiracy and the shots were going to kill us all. Well.....

Needless to say, I am brokenhearted and pissed off at the same time. My cousin recently got engaged and his stubborn ass should be walking her down the aisle this summer. Instead we will be planning a funeral. For the love, please protect yourselves and those that love you.

USPS is making me mad. I get being busy and short staffed. Fine. Some things won't get delivered today. SAY SO!! The "customer requested package held at carrier facility" update is just wrong. Seriously. Last time this happened, I waited thinking it would show up in a day or two. Nope. Had to drive 30 minutes each way to pick it up. Answer as to why it was held was simply that it must have been loaded on the wrong route or something. So here we are again. Plus another package that was "attempted delivery" yesterday with no signature required should have just been left to sit in the driveway or on the porch. Nope. "Attempted delivery" here means that it will be "attempted" again in a day or two and not able to deliver despite leaving other packages here. I am convinced they never even load it in the car after the first time and not even sure about that! At least be honest in the updates! Better than earlier this sure when I had packages "delivered" that were nowhere to be found and suddenly appeared after 2-3 days.
The lady I picked up from last time this happened (at the post office) said that attempted delivery or hold for pick up is just their way of adding a status when it got forgotten at the post office, loaded into the wrong car, or a dozen different things. Thanks.... Grrr!

(Nothing critical. Just some packets of veggie seeds, smoked paprika, and a jar of harrisa 8) )
