Let it all hangout -- The Grumpies, whinies, complainies Get It Off Your Chest Thread....

@Calliecake I think that’s what happened. I wasn’t sleeping because I was up all night coughing. I clean my jewelry in the ultrasonic and then put my jewelry on a paper towel to dry. I must have thrown it out. I really can’t imagine doing that because I’m so careful. I was on brain fumes then from lack of sleep. I’ve looked everywhere..It’s actually easy because I know I wouldn’t put it anywhere but my normal places. I’m debating about getting another band. I do have the Tiffany one but it’s thicker and the baguettes are more square. The one I lost was slim with elongated baguettes. It was an Art Deco band so not easy to find again. I’ll see if the princess cut band I purchased does the trick. My emerald cut ring in my avatar is too big so the Tiffany band pushes it to the thicker part of my finger which helps. I just liked the slimmer look of the band I lost. The width was also a good width for Winter. :cry2:

@MamaBee it doesn't hurt to call your local pd and waste management company. You never know-maybe a good samaritan found the ring...

This is actually another good reason to take really good closeups of your jewelry in case you ever want to recreate something that was lost.

I have photos thanks to PS. I could do that but I think I’m going to scour vendor sites for preowned. I want it to be exactly like the one I had. My husband is getting tired of me whining about it. I think you all must be tired of me talking about it endlessly..

@MamaBee, Do you have close up pictures of the band? Could David Klass make a band like the one you lost? He does such beautiful work. I remember seeing a photo of the lost band. Would that photo be a close enough photo for David to copy? It looked perfect with your ring!

Thank you @Calliecake. I think I do..but I don’t think I want to do a custom band. I’m still trying to decide if I should get another baguette band. I never wore my Tiffany band. At least now I’m wearing it. I haven’t lost hope that it will turn up.

Well, i have covid again. Everyone else in the house is fine so far. I’m isolating in my bedroom watching true crime.

I'm a watercolor artist that only manages to paint a few times a year. Finding the right head space is... challenging. Anyway, I got roped into participating in an art show a few years back and every year I agree to do it, and every year I'm panic painting last minute so I have something to submit.

I'm about 4 weeks away from said show, and actually started on a new piece, and decided to try some 140 lb hot press paper for this painting that had been gifted to me.

I absolutely hate the paper, and the way the paint moves on it. It's the same brand I always use, but I use the 300lb cold press. I'm scraping the painting and starting again. Thankfully I only lost about an hour of time between sketching and painting, but it still sucks to have lost that time when I find it so difficult to actually paint.

If you think this isn't going to go well and you say you are worried the screws are wobbly and it may fall apart and then it is wobbly as you begin to lift..... Maybe, just maybe, it is a BAD idea to keep going ahead!!!!

We're fine. Bumped and bruised but probably no lasting damage. Far better than you'd expect for dropping a heavy pile of steel roofing panels on our head :wall: :eek-2:

That's the thing, she absolutely makes the connection and then says things like "I don't see how you wait so long in the afternoon to eat lunch. I'd be famished!" So it's even more maddening.
Next time she says that, look her straight in the eye and say “yes, I am”. And see what she says (or just enjoy making her squirm)

I don't need an app for that.....geez why does everything have an app? Automatic litter box -- app to tell you when the cats are going and which cat is using it and when it's full. I don't need to know all that. I've lived a long time without an app telling me that.

Bought a new Panasonic toothbrush, been using them for years. New one comes with an app to tell you how well you're brushing, how long you're spending on each part of your mouth, how hard you're pressing, and what you're missing. After 6 decades on this earth, I've still got all my teeth and they're in excellent condition. I don't need an app for that.

That cat box app almost sounds intriguing. The vet always asks how whichever cat I brought in has been doing in the litter box. Umm..... I have three cats and two litter boxes (scooped three times daily) and (what a shock!) I don't spend all day staring at the box so I can run in to inspect! The assistant always seems surprised that I can't tell her exactly how often, when last #1 & #2, and exactly how each is looking and smelling. I think given three cats and boxes that aren't in the middle of the room for all to view I am doing pretty well!

ETA that I definitely agree. My dishwasher, washing machine, furnace filter, and water system all have apps. Plus the solar panels, chicken door, thermometers, car, bathroom scale, and everything else I am forgetting. It is crazy making!

Thank goodness most of my stuff is too old to have an app. It would drive me crazy.

I spent an hour and a half this morning waiting to speak to someone about closing an account that had about a dollar in it!

I've lived this experience. For .66 (Can) cents. Which of course in Canadian Dollars , is a completely worthless, and a liability.

cheers--Sharon

Would a husband app work? I'm thinking...not likely. Why try? :lol-2:

I seem to have lost my Dior diamond "OUI" ring. I bought it in Vegas during one of the Pricescope meetups. Grrr - hate that feeling. I've searched everywhere.

We lost power…It’s so cold outside…I have my chicken soup in the crockpot.…We don’t have a generator…I didn’t finish blow drying my hair so I look like I stuck my finger in the socket...We have septic so we can’t flush the toilets..:oops2: I could go I but I‘ll spare you all..Ugh

@MamaBee, I hope they fix the outage quickly! But I'm curious-- why can't you flush if you have a septic tank?

We have a well-- and a well pump-- and electric stove-- so when we lose power, we also lose water and the ability to cook.

@pearlsngems We can’t flush the toilets because we have a pump that pushes the water out to the tanks. They can fill up without getting pumped out..It can back up into the house. We have a tank alert but that runs on electricity. It doesn’t continuously pump. When it gets high it then pumps out..We don’t know what level it is before the power goes out. It could take one flush or shower to have it back up. The next house will have a generator.

The good news is the power came back on!! My hair is flat ironed..Crock pot is going..Life is good.

Wow! That is awful! Our septic is gravity fed so no electricity needed. Of course we are on a well so have to run the generator or there isn't water to flush...

Talk about timing! 10 minutes after I made this comment, I found myself standing at the stove in darkness. Power is out. Not long enough to make it worth rolling the generator out so we are by lanterns light. Should be restored within an hour or so (from now) according to utility district.

Welp, as is customary for this time of year when it drops below zero we get: 'there is no hot water in the kitchen' until Monday. They thought it was a good idea to run the copper pipes right along the outer granite wall under there. It'll be fine they said...probably.
I forgot to run the hot tap on drip last night for 45 min. and that was enough.
The weather lady said it was -15 and felt like-45 below with the wind last night.
It's annoying more than anything.
So, that's that.

I made cake though, so we'll just eat it and commiserate by being pissy for dessert tonight!

Woohoo! We've decided we're getting pizza and I get a meatball sub so there's no dishes for tonight. Hooray!

well this just depresses the heck out of me. I love dark chocolate and we've been told it's pretty good for you. And now much of it isn't.....

I eat four Hershey chocolate kisses every day. I love chocolate but I ration myself. Now I have to give it up? I know they say dark chocolate.…but wondering if it will include milk chocolate. This stinks…

Seems like eventually everything we enjoy has a problem...next thing you know diamonds will be emitting radiation!:lol-2:

I told DH last night that if I die of lead poisoning, so be it! I don't eat it that often and I am not about to give it up. (Insert picture of arms crossed toddler with tongue sticking out.)
