I may have posted this before, but who cares, that spess currently on Gene’s website inspired me.![]()
Rare milky yellow sapphire, 1.68ct. Here in low yellow light, in good daylight the color pop's up to a neon glowing greenish-yellow.
Here is Athena, Minerva’s little sister, also Muzo green..
I love them! I would like to just roll them around - they look so sparkly1I'll take blue this round, although it's sort of a stupid example. I was looking for some accent stones to pair with the 4.58ct. orangey-pink spinel, and came across these perwinkle Yogo Gulch sapphire melee (2mm). They were, IMO, really expensive for what they are (20 stones @ $68/stone). But I guess it's uncommon for Montana sapphires to be untreated and the Yogo variety is somewhat rare.![]()
I'm going to do an inner halo of these guys and then an outer halo of chunky diamonds. What do we think of this unusual color combo?

They are SO sparkly! I assume it's because of the lighter tone. The seller also said they have their melee precision cut.
We like it!
A combo of the two, I believe. I have a ring with an outer halo of light blue sapphire melee, and in the sun they rival the baby diamonds next to them.

When I made this thread, it was because I've been preoccupied with rainbows and color since I was leeettle. Surely that led to my love of gems.
Sure! Here it is in all its glory (guess we're doing blue twice in a row). Got it from NutellaKitty.
Such a lovely color and they'll contrast great with the spinel.
A 1+ct Yogo sapphire is a bucket list item for me. But this size is considered very large, and can cost 10-25k. I mean look at this cobalt blue color... can I just have one of these sapphires pretty please?
I remember being fascinated with the natural harmony that comes from the colors of the rainbow. It is interesting how intuitively 'correct' and magical it looks when you are a kid, too young to grasp any logic of color theory/wheel.
My older brother had the Pink Floyd CD for Prism, I remember being fascinated with the cover art.
Mahenge pink spinel
And pink star rubies
This thread makes me so happy- love catching up and seeing everyone’s colorful pieces!
Here is my contribution for red (mismatched ruby earrings):
Well, brown is 'dark orange', so my new 12-sided orangey brown zircon counts as orange. It looks more orange and more sparkly in real life that in the pic:
There's no doubt it's a zircon - see the doubled facet edges!
Thanks Autumn, Im flattered. You make me wanted to buy alot more stuff though, for example that neon tsavorite that you have
I got a yellow stone, not really gem, but its golden rutilated quartz. The inclusion inside is uniformly aligned that it gives this cat eye effect
Isn't that interesting... it looks like flowing golden locks. What is the carving? I made a beaded necklace of rutilated quartz years back, and wear it constantly. lol The rutile is black though. I love that the golden variety has chatoyance.
GREEN plays again!
