That's right. Just your favorite for any reason.

My Darling Wife

My Mother

My Mother In-Law

:))

My favorites (because they were all full of fight and didn't let themselves be dragged down):

Susan B. Anthony
Eleanor Roosevelt
Mother Teresa

I personally happen to admire women who had an impact on the world outside the entertainment industry (not that the ladies in the entertainment industry are not fabulous), so my list would look something like this:

1) Wangari Maathai
2) Winona LaDuke
3) Jane Goodall
4) Betty Friedan

In no particular order:

Rosie the Riveter (the women this image represents)
Betty Friedan
Gloria Steinem
Barbara Walters
Jane Austen
Billie Jean King

Odetta
Jessye Norman
Mahalia Jackson

Someone asked me on another forum what Christmas music I listen to and I couldn't think of an answer.

And then it hit me tonight that I listen to spirituals and gospel all the time so I don't separate out "Christmas" music.

I even find Christian themes in the Mississippi Delta Blues (people don't believe me when I tell them that, but it's true, I know it's supposed to be "the devil's music" but you'd be surprised how much of it is blatantly Christian).

I guess this kind of music is such a big part of my life that I never developed a desire to listen to "holiday" themed music.

Etta James! Not gospel, but what pipes!

Merry Clayton!- she was the female singer with Mick Jagger on Gimme Shelter. The producers called her in the middle of the night because with just Mick. the song wasn't working. She is a little-known gospel singer and we all know she totally MAKES that song.

Fergie-Gimme Shelter brings me to Fergie (wait for it)! I saw Mick and Fergie perform Gimme Shelter live at Madison Square Garden. And that girl CAN SING. She is completely wasted with the black eyed peas. Her range is stunning and it really isn't used to it's full potential. Fergie would be an amazing gospel singer.

I saw Aretha during that same concert. It was a good night! :appl:

Etta James.

Aretha Franklin (as a young prodigy).

Fantasia.
