The look. I like buttons. LOL. What I do like about the corset back is the way I can tighten it and loosen it as I need, the lower cost of alterations as a result and the fact that the maggie with it is REALLY affordable. Well, if you want buttons, you want buttons! I think corset backs tend to be cheaper because they are less labor intensive and fitted. I didn''t like "busy corset backs" so I had mine altered to remove every other loop at the suggestion of the tailor. It made it look more elegant and less zig-zaggy. I''m wondering if you can replace the corset back with a zipper/button panel. It would be the opposite of what most people do, but if the back is plain enough (no embroidery or beading) you may be able to do it.
