LIW Pet Thread

I love rabbits! I used two named Jasper and Shadow many years ago. I miss them :(

Here is my little baby. She's actually not so little anymore...58 lbs!

Awww! The faces on these animals are priceless!!! This will be my first attempt at photo posting so let's see how this goes!

Can I play? I can't pass up the opportunity to show off the furbabies in my life, even if I'm not an LIW. :P

First, this is our Chihuahua, Cocoa, who passed at the age of 13 last November. We were all devastated when he died, especially my mom; he was such a big part of our lives.

And this is my mom's Papillon, Wangja that I got her shortly after Cocoa died. Unfortunately, she wasn't quite ready at that time and he now lives with a friend of ours and her Shih Tzu.

And months later, when she finally felt ready, she decided to get two Chihuahua puppies - they're half siblings. The black and white puppy is the boy, Coco (named in honor of our first Cocoa), and the black and brown is Kola, the girl.

And now for the loves of my life....my two Bengal kittens, Kipling and Dante. They're littermates - Kipling is the biggest of his litter and Dante is the smallest.

B.E.G., your furbabies are quite adorable...can I play, too? I mean, she's got nothing on these lovely furballs, but she tries!

One more...Daisy is a red/white beagle, this is her at almost 2 years, she's just turned 4 and looks exactly the same thanks to a very fastidious diet and exercise program (I refuse to let her become one of those fluffy beagles!) LOL!

Monnie, I adore beagles. I think they have the sweetest faces - and Daisy is no exception! What a cutie!

Thanks, B.E.G.!!! She astounds me with her cuteness every single day, I wish she were smaller so I could tuck her into my purse or something and take her with me everywhere, but *sigh* she's 20 lbs and too full of energy.

Your puppies and kitties are TO DIE FOR!!! So very cute and so much personality!!! I love them all! :appl:

I think Kipling is on the right...the markings on their heads. Kitten on the right has the K shape in his markings.

Those are beautiful cats, B.E.G! Bengals, huh?

Beautiful furbabies, everyone!

Bebe, Sierra (?) is gorgeous! She looks at home in the snow.

So B.E.G., how much trouble do those Bengals get into huh? Lol I hear they can be quite the handful. I would love to own one some day.

Thanks everyone!

Audball, was it you?? I swear someone said the same thing months and months ago when I was still trying to figure out which was Kipling and which was Dante, that I should name the little boy with the "K" mark on his head Kipling (sorry for that scrambled sentence - I'm on a lot of cold medicine right now!). It totally worked though!

Grlsbestfrnd, they are a handful. Two handfuls. They're very active, can jump super super high, are extremely curious and nosy and get into everything, they've made me clear my kitchen counter after the Infamous Bread Incident (I got up to find a loaf of bread shredded and crumbs everywhere), they unroll my paper towels and toilet paper, drop toys in their water bowl, splash in the sink and drink from the faucets, chill on the side of the bathtub whenever I shower, climb up my shower curtain, go after feather wands like it's their WORST enemy and no way is it escaping in one whole piece, and tear through the house like a stampede of elephants. With that said, I am SO glad I got them - seriously, I love my babies so much, though they're troublemakers. They have big personalities - and despite their rambunctiousness, they are super loving, will hop onto my lap and cuddle and sleep on my stomach when I'm lying on the couch, give me kitty kisses and purr and just be super affectionate.

Thankfully, I had researched them and knew what to expect - they are more time-intensive than most cats I think - but they do take a bit more effort. I think the most important thing when getting a Bengal is going to a reputable breeder, not because of the pedigree necessarily, but because a reputable breeder will socialize the kittens really well and from an early age. My kittens were super well socialized and I think that's made a huge difference. Be prepared to totally child/kitten-proof your home if you get them though!

I have a thread on them with pictures from the time I got them to a few weeks ago - check it out! :) Link

I guess I should add my babies too!

Darwin - Domestic Short Hair Cat (rescue), ~ 9 years old (had since he was ~ 2 1/2)

Molly - Miniature Schnauzer (black and silver parti pattern), DOB 9/14/09, just over 1 year old, aquired her at about 6 months of age (she was supposed to be a mommy dog for a breeder, but she ended up being to large, so at 6 months, she was rehomed and we were lucky enough to get her!)

This is our Russian Blue. I had one as a child and loved her personality, I researched them a lot and found that her personality was reflected by all the characteristics of the Russian Blue. My SO is allergic to cats and sometimes I am too, but when reading up on the russians I found that they're a hypo-allergetic cat! What's cool about her is that she plays fetch with her toys, she'll drop them in front of you for you to throw it, then brings it back and does it over & over. I'm thinking of getting her an emerald or peridot collar (to match her eyes), with her name and our address engraved into the back of the setting. We love this little cat so much :D

This is our Min Pin, Mochi. And she's only wearing the jacket because she gets cold easily >:P

Awww monnie I have a beagle too! Arent they the best? Ours is Bailey and she is 4, and I she is too cute I cant take it. She is lemon and white. I love seeing beagles out of the "norm" tri-color. Although I am seriously considering getting a second beagle, a boy tri-color or a black and tan would be cute!

Here's her the day we got her, playing with my father in law's old dog:

and here is a bad cell phone pic of her older...coincidentally at my father in law's house again....haha

This is Winston as a baby, about 10 weeks old. It's an awful picture of a cute puppy. He only weighed about 3 pounds!

This is Winston at almost 2 years old. He looks sweet, but it's deceiving. :Up_to_something:

Resonance, I love your min pin! I have such a soft spot for the breed. Here's Taz and Milo. I loooovvveee Milo, he's my baby boy. He is such a beauty  (Can you tell I'm a proud mama to him :cheeky: ). DH's dog taz is 'special'. He's a rescue that came with papers. The breeder had been going for the "rare" blue colored min pin. The problem with blues is that the color is due to a gene malfunction. Taz has very bad food allergies, a thick coat of fur (min pins shouldn't have this) and honestly he's dumb as rocks. He runs into walls and is scared of fuzzballs. But we love him anyway!

SparklyBlonde:
They are quite the intelligent breed aren't they? It usually leads Mochi into tons of trouble.
