Hi All! I am a newbie to PS. I just had to share with you the ring that my DH made for me for our 20th wedding anniversary which was June 30th. I am so in love with this ring and the man that made it!
The band is made of 14kt yellow and rose gold. My DH enlisted help from family members by asking them for any gold jewelry they don't wear. The rose gold comes from my late grandfathers wedding band. It truly is a "family" ring!
After many failed attempts to pour the gold into a mold via a centrifuge my DH decide to machine it. He is a machinist by trade. That went much more smoothly. I am thrilled with the results!
Once the band was made the real fun began. He asked me what kind of head I wanted. I told him I wanted something a bit different and we settled on a tulip design. Then, with the help from a local jeweler, we had 5 diamonds to decide from. That was fun! I let the final decision be made by my DH. It is a gift after all! He decided on an oval that faces up as a 2ct. He was looking for finger spread, with no complaints from me!
Here are the specs:
GIA cert
1.71 Oval Brilliant
9.68 x 7.20 x 3.90
K VS1
Thank you for letting me share. And, without further ado, here is my baby:
