Looking at a ring purchase

Dress's for work in classic slackes and blouses, jeans and t-shirt when not at work. medium to low heels at work, tennis shoes to flats out of work. Doesn't wear expensive or gaudy jewelry, more costume?, not real expensive. Different colors but tends to lighter colors. Bought her a silver and peridot ring last year that she likes.

if she is a little more active (and believe me it will be good if you ever decide to have kids) i think a bezel is a nice idea. Now i dont know, the website says for only a round but i think ive seen before where they can veer a little from what the website says...

anyways, id ask if they could do this setting for an oval, that would leave you about 2.5k for the stone, more than enough to get a beautiful one. And if they could make this one for an oval, it would be so Tiffany's to me, and very laid back and not too "fancy", but still beautiful. Plus bezels make the stone look larger . They might not be able to do it in a oval shape, but doesnt hurt any thing to ask

Definitely sounds like a sleek bezel type of gal.

Yes, attractive, but no kids, we are done with that stage of life, hahaha. I will ask about the bezel mount though. Don't you seem to lose some depth in a bezel though, with it being more incased in the metal?

Haha well ok no kids. But active laid back casual. If you think that describes her I think a bezel would be perfect. What so you mean by lose depth, exactly?

I'd suggest something else if you though she had a more antique or vintahe style . But if her style is crisp/clean and easy, bezel seems perfect

Guess I was just worried that surrounding the diamond in a bezel could make it lose the look of depth as their is less room for the light to penetrate??

Well true youcwont see as much of the side of the diamond, but a well cut stone gets most of its light from the top. A bezel does block a little more than prongs which block a little more than nothing, but a well cut stone will still pwrform well in a bezel. It won't turn a performer into a dud

Eta: but I'm just basing it of what you've said about her. What do you think. Does this sound like her style or is it off or missing something

Still leaning towards this one.

Like it as it has clean lines, isn't to dainty but not overbearing as well and would seem to showcase the diamond.

I really do appreciate others opinions though, especially when they have more knowledge than I do.
I think its. Not going to look as fluid as you would like it to in real life

I like this one but in 14k for $ sake. Plain, classic, not too dainty.

I would have them pull for you that h I posted in the comparison, the d I posted yesterday ( and that .9 ct around 3k if you can swing it) have them get asets of all of them as well as have them review the bowties, performance and make sure that d is eye clean. Its all free but you can only pull up to 3 to look at. And that will hold them so no one swipes them up

Ok, like that one. Still have the clean lines and not to dainty.
Will have talk with them about pulling as you mentioned, didn't even know they did that, thanks for the advice.

I have to ask.. why oval? Or, why /not/ round?

Yeah its nice they review everyrhing for you tell you what they think and then you can decide if you want to pull the trigger on any of them or not. Make sure to ask for aset images though so we can look at them, but those arw only part of the story. Its ncice they have gemologists to review the performance and inclusions

ASET of the .7 oval104051aset_0.jpg

The other diamond that the gemologist really loved is diamond 104051 (0.70crt D SI1). It has an icy white "D" color, a beautiful outline, and thanks its inclusions blending well, appears perfectly eye clean. Its great light performance with a minimal bowtie as well. This diamond is your second best option, unless you favor diamonds with an icy white color; then I would recommend it as your top choice.

Hmm the pic didnt load

And what did they say abiut the stone?

The first diamond that I recommend considering is diamond 97563 (0.90crt H VVS2); it has a minimal bowtie and possesses great light performance. It's eye clean, has a true "H" color, and the gemologist favored its outline the most. Lastly, as you would expect, it appears the largest of the bunch.97563aset_0.jpg

Im thinking you should start a new thread title it "review my oval asets?" Or something. Get more hits for people to review them.
them.and then itll be easier to post the pics because now they should be inthe little pic icon under insert

Bump

Julie,

OP may prefer oval shape (I have a strong preference for ovals) and/or be trying to stretch the budget (ovals are typically priced significantly lower than RBs for the same face-up size).
