Hi
I wondering if anyone could have a look at this diamond and give me a second opinion?

http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-3468397-1.11-carat-Round-diamond-I-color-VS1-Clarity.aspx?sku=3468397&utm_source=pricescope.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=pricescope.com

I have a $5500 budget and am looking for the best diamond I can get for that. I would like 1ct and was thinking around the h/i vs2 mark if I was lucky :)

Can anyone suggest any diamonds which I should look at, I've been looking for a week now and my head is spinning with so much information.

Cheers

This would be considered a 60/60 diamond I think. According to the HCA it should be a nice diamond and worth a further look.
Unfortunately, I dont think B2Cjewels offers idealscope. You could order it and have a look in person to see what you think
(or take it to an appraiser and have them look at it for you.)

That does look like a nice diamond, thanks for your help.

Can you tell me how I would go about getting an ideal scope? do I just request one from JA?

and can you tell me about the discount? once again do I just ask for a price scope discount?

Cheers

Yeah wben you go on ja you should be able to strike up a chat sith someone using a chat feture. Tell them you arw interested in placing a diamond on hold and getting its idealscope and hearing about its light performance and if its eye clean.
They will then lut it on hold for you while they get it. Same thing for the ps discount, jnust have to mention ir. Also, you get more off if you pay with a wire transfer.
Also ask if they will do one kf there swttings in RG for you. Its not on there page but they should still be able to without a problem

This stone would look stunning in that tiffany repo in rose gold from BGD! If you're getting the setting from there to begin with, getting the stone from there too if you can find one within budget might be good. Here's what I found:

i really think you should put it on hold, it can be snatched up so fast!

You'll be glad to hear I send and email and put this on hold. Hubby is away for the weekend and they said they will hold till monday for me :)

I think either choice would be lovely. BG in house branded stones are cut to very tight parameters. They are all cut to look similar. Performance is not an issue with them. The bonus on the J is obviously size, and the fluor will help it look whiter in some lighting situations. The bonus on the G is the color. I've come to realize for some people, getting close to a carat (ie- in to the .90 range) "feels" mentally like a carat, even if it doesn't physically make it there, and I totally get that. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of other stones available right now in you budget at BGD. And the .90's don't get cut as often as .75 and 1.0 stones because once you get to .9 the cutters want to push for weight. Same issue with stones in the .8 range.

You won't be disappointed in the performance on either one, both idealscopes and ASET look fine. The cut parameters are very close. You just have to decide whether you want size or high color. Maybe call them and have them pull the stones and give you their input. It may also make a difference based on the setting you want which one they suggest.

ETA- since you've pushed your budget up to $6k, I'm going to make one more suggestion that will get you to a full carat, and be whiter than the J.

Also- here's a (blurry, sorry) picture of some stones from the BG Blue line I saw when I was there meeting with him. The stone in the halo is an H with faint fluor. The middle stones is an I with medium fluor and the one on the end is a J with V Strong or Strong fluor, can't remember which and the stone was sold some time ago...It may help you or may not....

It was a tough call, I preferred the J colour (because of size) but my partner didn't want to go that low in colour. I called BG and they told me that the J colour had a warm tone to it and the G was crisp white. I did really want the 1ct but my partner is the one that's buying so we had to compromise so this is what we came up with.

Thanks that pic is great, the colour in the J is definatly noticable to me. Just hope I've made the right decision :?:

I agree that if you are color sensitive than choosing a J would be risky. I have a J and the color is apparent through the pavilion view of the stone, face up it's very white, the body color doesn't bother me, but I'm not particularly color sensitive. I think that you have made a really nice selection and think that it will be a beautiful stone!
