I'm looking for a glowy orangy yellow spessartite of at least 2 carats. The stone I reserved through Gemline has been lost. I'm really disappointed about it, although Michael has been extraordinarily kind, though devastated, about it. So, can anyone help me find a replacement?

I am so sorry to hear that - that has got to be the very worst - when you are going to your mailbox every day in anticipation and they you realize its just not going to come.

When I think of glowy yellowish orange spess, I think of Michael and Dana. You might also try Roger Dery, but his prices will be higher. I just sent one back to Gem Earth which was about a 3 ct fat pear. The color was pure orange with good light return, though - no yellow that I could see.

I will definitely keep my eyes open. I have decided that I need to see them in hand and will have to wait for the next gem shows to come along...

I'm sorry to hear this, Uppy. I'll keep a look out for you, and post if I see something that might be worth checking out.

Question? Did he send it via registered mail? It should be trackable and very safe. That's scary, as so much is lost at this time of year. :((

TL, it's been misplaced in his shop. He put is "someplace safe" since my reserve was for a month, longer than the usual time. And now he cannot locate it. Sounds like something I would do! He and his staff are still searching, but it has been over a week he has been looking, and still no go.

Oh, I see, sorry about that. Thanks for clarifying. If I see any nice spessartites, I'll let you know.

You realize of course that the minute one of us finds an option for you and you buy it, the other spessie will show up, don't you? Because that's one of the laws of the universe.

Thanks, Smiles! Gene's stone has a lot of similarities to the Gemline stone, so I've jumped on it. I don't love it AS much as the other. But Michael said they are still looking for it, and will notify me when they find it. So still keeping my fingers crossed.
