Looking to buy a ring in next couple of weeks

Hi all, just signed up and hoping for some help.

I have done a lot of reading on here and through the internet, regarding different diamond rings.

I have read that people do not seem so keen on 'brands' but here goes.

There are 2 I have narrowed down to, I want to buy a complete ring rather than separate. Could you tell me your thoughts on these, or any other suggestions but need to be UK based.

I went to see this one and was impressed by the sparkle compared to the stores 'standard' rings which looked dull when compared.

I can get 20% off at Ernest Jones hence considering the one above. I could stretch a bit more but I am saving for a house and a new car so don't want to reduce the savings too much.

The reason you do not see brands (chain jewelry stores) is pricescope is here to educate people on diamond purchases in general and more specific to help guide buyers to buying diamonds within their budget to an ideal stone for them.

"Jewelry" stores preset diamonds to make purchasing easier. Most of the people visiting this sight prefer to purchase the stone by itself in order to see the exact nature of the individual stone. Once a stone is set inclusions can be hidden by the prongs and the color might be off due to being put in a let s gold setting. To truly appreciate and evaluate a diamond one must examine it loose first.

alot of people have found a setting at the local jewelry store and have certified stones they have purchased set into those settings The other reason people research on pricescope is to learn that diamonds that are certified by an independent diamond appraiser such as GIA means that the diamond has been evaluated by someone who is not selling the stone but appreciating for its specific details.

Jewelry stores will give your their knowledge but they still want to sell you their ring. If you ever go to resell or upgrade the size of the stone later only a certified stone is truly seen as what it is. That jeweler that you purchase your original stone may be out of business or unwilling to give you full retail value for what one of them graded your ring. But a certified stones IS What it is. Keep this in mind when purchasing a ring.

Many of use have been burned by buying uncertified stones and now have paid 2-3x as much to rebuy certified stones. Good luck.

I do like the setting of the first ring but would never purchase a stone just on their appraisal.

It's rarely a great idea to buy a ring that already has the diamond set, but if you absolutely had to choose between these two, I would pursue the first one. I can honestly say that I've never been disappointed with the performance of an HOF, while LEOs tend to be somewhat inconsistent, so hands down you should go for the HOF.

its good to buy diamond set with a ring but in that case you have less choice.

if you are looking to buy a well cut stone and have a budget of about 2500USD the stone do not at all stretch your budget.
if i had to choose between either i guess id choose the first, but if i had a choice of anything else i for sure would go elsewhere

all of these would be in budget with a simple solitaire and score well on the hca
