Hi all! Apologies if posting this in the wrong forum.

I have seen some amazing stones listed in the Pre-loved forum so taking a shot here to see if any Pricescopers are considering a sale at this time.

I am looking for a 2-3 ct OEC, K+, VS+, 8.5mm+. Not extremely particular on facet pattern (e.g. flowery or checkboard is fine with me), just looking for distinct, bright facets that are pleasing to the eye. My budget is $16k.

I am working with Adam as well but he doesn't have many stones in this range at the moment, so we are waiting to see what comes in within the next couple of months. He has a stone at $15k that I am considering if nothing a bit spready-er becomes available.

Thanks all.

What is your budget? (I do not have a stone to offer - but will help others I bet)

How about this one...

My budget is $16k and I am considering a $15k stone from Adam that I like-like, but don't completely love. That one is just above 8mm, so hoping to find something with a slightly bigger spread.

That stone from Grace is lovely but alas out of the budget! Not sure if the owner is here on PS?

You have to see if @Demelza 's stone is still available...

If I was looking for a stone this size, I would buy this. for sure.

more info on it:

The price is great. Snap it up if it isn't already gone.

Her latest response seems to suggest she’s not selling at the moment. Gorgeous stone.

You might try asking Alex Park of parksfinegroup on instagram. He has been able to find large OECs for me faster and at a lower price than other vendors.

Good shout, I do follow him on Instagram already. Do you know what his shipping and return policy is?

From my personal experience, he doesn’t respond well to people asking about stones he doesn’t yet have. When I was searching for my OEC I reached out to him and he basically laughed at me and said get in line. But other people had great experiences so I don’t know. Just an FYI, that he may come off like a snob.

Edited for clarity: not come off like a snob but is a snob.

I don't think I'd ask Alex to look unless you have an established customer relationship with him.

You can look at xothebijouxbox on IG as well and I think she will help you look. Sin City Finds is usually open to customer requests as well. Diamonds by Lauren sometimes gets circular brilliants in. Those are not the same though. But maybe worth a look. Platt Boutique is with a look. Knox Jewels on IG will also source, I believe.

Thanks for the heads up. Doesn’t hurt to shoot my shot with a DM, but yeah I’ve one weird experience with another vendor who didn’t have anything nice to say about other well-known vendors who work with old cuts. Needless to say, not working with that vendor.

I’ll check those out, thank you for the suggestions.

Another vote for Diana with Sin City Finds. She is super sweet and helpful. Alex has always been good to me and responsive. I have asked him to source stones with great success. Sako also has nice stones occasionally as well. Xothebijouxbox has great stuff and is always super sweet.

I will say, when I was on my hunt for my OEC Alex was pleasant and simply said he didn’t have anything at the time. He’s been nice a few other times I’ve inquired randomly, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. I was also not a previous customer. I wanted a high color OEC, so maybe why he let me down gently

Appreciate everyone’s responses. I have reached out to Dolly, Diana, Alex (again), and Platt already said they don’t have anything right now. Poli Trading is also keeping an eye out for me.

Still, I welcome any PS-er’s who are considering selling a stone within my parameters to please reach out! It almost feels like that would keep it in the family, and I’m sure there’s a deal to be had without the middleman :)

Hey @Aurora26 , do you have a LT account so that we can contact you? I might have something you might be interested in... Maybe... =)2

Can’t comment in terms of how good of a diamond this actually is, but here’s one in your budget that I’ve been watching.

And another, not perfectly round & an L, but a decent bit below your budget.

You might want to try Ari at SingleStone. When I was there a few months ago, he had a lot of OECs. You can just send an email and see if they have something you may like.

Thank you for the options! Don't think these are "the one" for me.

Thank you, I've spoken to Ari at SingleStone and there's not much K+ at the moment.

You may want to contact Ivy and Rose as well. They have stones on their website, but they will also source for a customer. Call and speak to the owner, Ilya (a man).

Ivy & rose is a great idea....I find Single Stone outrageously expensive, but maybe not for sourcing / diamonds only?

I have reached out to Ivy and Rose before and will do so again to see if inventory has changed, thank you for the prompt.

Yeah SingleStone's process is also usually for Ari to design the setting as well. That's not quite what I am looking for so not sure it makes sense to reengage the team.

Is it reasonable that stock is a bit depleted right now due to the holidays being a popular engagement season, and potentially a large wave of stones will become available around Jan/Feb and later?

On top of all that, I think stock is especially depleted bc of COVID....supply chains were put into a tailspin as far as I understand

I've had two diamonds cut like this and were outrageous sparkle bombs everywhere except under the table which was just OK. They shouldn't have been based on how shallow they were, but the cut works for some reason. This is a video of the one I sold, only because I realized that for the same price I could get a perfect match to my pre-upgrade engagement ring diamond and make earrings.

I have a small 0.6 ct diamond cut like this and it performs the same.

That’s completely fair and I understand no old cuts are identical. Personally, I’m hesitant to purchase something as big as this from eBay as there isn’t as much guidance on how to properly do it, versus working with a vendor. Appreciate there’s a return policy but still, I need someone to talk to me - I’m needy :???:

I once bought a very expensive diamond ring from eBay, and the seller sent me the wrong ring (it actually had an even MORE valuable diamond in it!) and when I contacted her to fix the issue she spent a full 24 hours accusing me of switching the stone until she realized what had happened and apologized! :eek2: I had about had a heart attack, it was some of the longest 24 hours of my life! So I totally get you, and these shallow-but-sparkle-bomb OECs are also a different "look" than the deep ones. I just wanted to let you know my personal experience with seeing them in real life.

This might be a long shot, but @premiergemstones on IG has some really beautiful stones for sale that seem very reasonably priced. He might be worth contacting too. He's a cutter I think and maybe he'd even be able to recut a MRB to an OEC - totally don't know for sure, but I've been tempted to ask.

Good luck!! =)2

Alex Park also works with an amazing diamond cutter, Calvin Yuan of Solstar, who can execute a perfect flowery OEC recut. I went that route when I couldn't find a 5+ carat perfectly cut OEC within my budget. It is not without risk but I was very happy with the outcome.

Cjd_sako on instagram also sometimes has large OECs and might have access to ones he hasn't posted, so worth asking.

Woah - this is amazing to know - I have an RB that I want recut into an OEC one day - how do I contact Calvin if you don't mind sharing?
