First of all, Hello everyone! I''m Burke. I''m proposing to the love of my life for her birthday (4 days after Valentine''s day.) I got a store credit card for Kay and was overjoyed until I started researching (I like many others almost fell for the mall shop bs). So I can''t afford what my limit was by card for the over priced low quality Kay Jewelry... A few people I woked with used BlueNile and were very happy with their purchases. I noticed they take PayPal... I''ll get to that in a minute. I came up with the idea to buy a loose stone which was actually given to me by a Kay Jeweler we met because they were having a ''ring event'' next month where a guy comes in with settings and loose stones and makes custom rings for customers.... This is the more formal proposal, my lady has a diamond promise ring currently. The guy from Kay however gave me the idea of having a new ring made incorporating the old rings diamonds. Which to us seemed sweet and would make the ring more sentimental. Now back to Blue Nile, Blue nile accepts paypal, I have a credit line with paypal for $700 and I have $1000 coming in in the next few days from a tax return. My idea was to buy the best stone I could get for $1700... and for best stone I''m looking for something in the .60 or a little above. Some people are probably going to laugh at me, maybe not. I don''t know a lot about this stuff. but the number seemed reasonable to me. We''re not both incredibly wealthy people and we''re humble, we''re just two people in love starting out our careers and lives. But I would like to get her something or legit size/quality so we can then later one in a month or two get a band made using stones from the other ring. Is there anyone that could help guide me a bit? Or recommend somewhere to get a nice e-stone (someone who accpets paypal). Thanks guys I appreciate it very very much
