Hi,

I lost 1 diamond stud, I have one remaining. I think I am a little forgetful. I have quite a few single earrings.

The earring is 0.26 ct. I was hoping that I would find the missing one, but after 2 months, it seemed unlikely.

One day I thought I will just buy another pair of diamond stud, keeping the remaining one in case the missing one does show up one day. The next day, I think it is a pity to have a diamond lying around, I should just take it out of its existing setting, and buy another matching diamond, and set them both in a new setting. Yet another day, I thought I am curious of WF ACA and Brian Gavin's signature ideal round, maybe this is my opportunity to buy one of each.

What would you do?

I did the same thing, so far I am yet to replace the missing one.

My daughter lost one of her .25ct WF stone so I just replace it with another .25ct from WF.

I have quite a number of pendants that were the non lost half of former earrings...
I personally would either try to buy another matching diamond if you can find one that will match, or buy a new set and use the old one for something else

My daughter lost an earring. Our jeweler told me they’ll take the other one as a trade for a new pair. I’m actually doing that, today, after work.

From your post seems to be a pattern.
Do you have insurance?

That happened to me. I think it's been over a year now (?) and I still haven't found the other earring. I'm pretty sure I lost it at home so I'm hoping that when we move in a year or two, I'll find it then... In the meantime, I scoured ebay, LoupeTroop, and DiamondBistro to see if I could find a matching earring. I didn't want to pay for something brand new in case I end up losing another one. Luckily, I found a preloved pair that I liked for less than the price of one replacement diamond. So, I bought those and have kept the singleton in my jewelry box since then.

On the other hand...it does sound like you have quite a few single earrings? Are any of them comparable to each other? If so, it may end up being more cost effective to just reset the stones you have (as long as slight differences in size, color, etc. won't bother you).

The items that I like and use the most seem to go missing the most. :cry2:

I would take the opportunity to buy a pair of WF ACA studs.
