Hi All,
Valentine’s Day came early for me this year! My DH is a generous guy and I am so fortunate. I got a Victor Canera pave eternity band to wear with my VC ering. I absolutely love the way they look together.

I had been contemplating adding a band for a while and tried on a plethora of eternity bands and 5 stone rings. I’m not really a fan of matchy/matchy wedding sets, but that’s what ultimately won out. I like the way the rings are not flush.

I have noticed that after wearing the rings together for a few days I’m having an issue with rings rubbing/scratching. It looks like the donut of the ering is rubbing the band.

Do I need a spacer? Will that eliminate the problem?
I don’t plan on wearing the band on it’s own, so maybe permanently attach them?

What a wonderful gift from DH for Valentine's day!!! Gorgeous band - and looks incredible on your hand along with your VC split shank halo!! WOW - stunning look!

If you never plan to wear them separate, then soldering together could be an idea, but its permanent. Why not try a super skinny .75mm or 1mm plat spacer?

You have a beautiful ring and it looks perfect with that band. Enerchi has a couple of good solutions for you! I once had my engagement ring soldered to my band cause it kept spinning. Solved the problem - not to mention no more rubbing.

I can't stand for rings to be soldered, personally, so I would get the small spacer band.

WOW! :cheeky:

Gah! So beautiful! I think if you are sure that you won't be wearing the band on its own then soldering the two together may be a good idea for you. Your nails look lovely as well! Happy early vday ::)

I'm not a fan either. Maybe you could have VC make a plat band that is less than 1mm wide but high enough to stop the diamond girdles from rubbing your ering. I just had DK make two 18k yg bands for either side of my eternity. They are only 1.75mm wide but I had then made 2mm high so I have a rounded look from the sides. You would want the spacer not to detract from the design of the two rings.

It is lovely and they look awesome together!

I must have been either half awake or otherwise distracted when I posted earlier because I see I neglected to say how very gorgeous your rings are!!!!

Thanks for all the kind words and suggestions.
Getting a spacer makes the most sense for now.
I understand the spacer separates the rings, but does the spacer rub up against the rings causing any damage?

Did you see this?

Because you have a split shank, a thinner spacer would look better. It seems that it would rub on the doughnut but plat on plat is better than prongs or girdles rubbing. Like DS, I completely spaced out and forgot to say how stunning your set is. Even though you say now you won't wear the band alone, I would keep that as an option.

The spacer will not cause any harm - you are safe with a spacer, not to worry! I think if you start first with a minimal investment in a spacer - see how that works for you and if you do end up wearing it alone, then the soldering is probably not worth pursuing.

Man, I love your rings!! :appl:

Yup +1. I personally like the look of stacked sets and I also like the diversity to wear different bands with my VC ering. So I would vote against soldering. You can get an inexpensive spacer on etsy that is .75mm or 1mm to wear between the bands. If you look at my recent posts I posted a profile set of my rings with a spacer. It will help elevate the rubbing.

You should definitely go with your gut for now, but don't be afraid of the idea of having them lightly soldered at a later date. It's not like the rings would be welded together (I've had that before and I hated it), they are just joined at tiny spots around the rings and can be separated later if you need to.

Once the rings are joined, not only do you not have to worry about rubbing or scratching, but the rings will also be in perfect alignment all of the time. So everytime you look at your finger, your ering is perfectly upright and your wband diamonds are perfectly aligned with the melee on your ering. I wasn't keen on having my rings spot soldered initially either, and only agreed after wearing them for a couple of hours and realizing that they were moving every time I moved my hand. I hated the constant movement, rolling, separating, etc etc more than I disliked the idea of spot soldering, so I decided to try it and to my surprise I actually love it.

Anyway, I just wanted to share another perspective from an initially EXTREMELY reluctant "solderer" :D. I understand that a lot of folks like the spacers so that might work out wonderfully for you, but in may case having another ring to contend with didn't help me as much as I'd hoped. I also wasn't comfortable with the metal-to-metal contact, but again, I think it's all very personal.

Either way though, YOUR RINGS ARE GORGEOUS!!!!! Truly truly beautiful, so you don't have anything to worry about! My set is just your average ring & I can only dream of having something as breathtaking as yours one day. So, unlike mine, it doesn't really matter whether your rings are "in alignment" or not when you've got something that fabulous on your finger for pete's sake LOL  !

Gorgeous set you have there!!

I love the VC band--I've got 2 myself already! I wear mine stacked flush to my 3 stone.

Gorgeous, I love how they look together!

Your set is quite delectable, Mikat620. I think this Tiffany's band can be the perfect spacer for you.

It's thin enough to not be a distraction, and the millegraining should blend in beautifully with your pave bands. I'm sure VC can make one similar. If I remember correctly, luv2sparkle has a curved version by LM. Good luck on your search and don't forget to post updated pics! Actually, we can all use more pics of your lovely set!

I ordered a platinum 0.8mm spacer from June Designs and it worked out perfectly. It's super skinny and can barely be seen.
Thanks again, you all are great!!

Can you post a pic from the top? It looks like when you look from there it can hardly be seen, looks great and you have peace of mind. :appl: :appl:

Thanks NonieMarie. Here's a pic from the top.

That *did* work out perfectly!! good choice mikat :appl: Now you can enjoy the rings and not worry at all!

A great choice and probably a fraction of what you would have paid  VC.

Just gorgeous! It goes so well with your ering and new band!!!!

Perfect solution!!! :appl:
