Hi Friends,

I have once again put out my feelers out to see if I can come across any rough or faceted Luc Yen neon blue spinel material. I gave up about 6 months ago because I kept hitting walls when inquiring about this stone, but I am reenergized! And you know what they say, if you don't ask, you don't get!

Does anyone know of a colored stone vendor I should get in contact with? I am open to size and shape and am flexible on price. I know how rare this material is, so I understand it will be $$$.

TIA!

Have you asked Brad Paine of The Gem Trader? He occasionally posts Luc Yen spinels (he has a small pink one now on auction but I have seen larger blues from him)?

No I haven't, but I will! Any other vendors that may have something?

Sometimes Pala has one or two.

I saw that they have one for sale but would prefer to work with someone directly

I'd forgotten all about Antoine. The last we talked around 2 years ago, he said he's retired so I don't know who is running his business. I'm sure he still responds to emails though and sells through a few US based lapidaries.

Please don't click on the link above in VL's post. My anti-virus has detected that there's a malware concern with it.

LD - thanks for the heads up . I am afraid that I didn't see your post before I clicked on it...

Anyhow, since this is the Holy Grail search, I am posting a Holy Grail example. What I am looking for is not a pale blue stone, but rather one with some electricity deep within.

Drool...

Gary Dutton is one of the sellers in the US for Antoine's stones. I have to second the suggestion of going through someone for Pala. Many of the stones that you see lately on websites are not owned by the vendor. I have found Pala to not sugarcoat the description of their stones when you ask them specific questions (e.g. telling you if there's a window, describing the color etc.)

Swala had one recently that was to die for!

SpheneQueen, I know that Bob Sivinski was trying to get a hold of you through your Etsy email. I'm taking a shot here that you haven't checked it in a few days. Hope this helps! :wink2:

I'm going to check it right now!
