Man, it is hard to get PS worthy pics! I still don''t have PS-worthy ones, but it''s taking too long, so here you go!
My FI completely surprised me, and I really didn''t think he would. I basically planned our mini-break to Mexico and really prepared myself that he wasn''t going to propose. I knew talking to my Dad first was important, and I also *knew* that he hadn''t spoken to my dad yet, so I knew there was no way he would do it in Mexico. I had to remind myself not to get upset and ruin our great (and expensive!) vacation.
Well, yes, of course, he had talked to my dad. Not only did he throw me off, but both my mom and dad knew and convinced me that FI hadn''t spoken to him yet. Background: my FI and I are LD, so I thought I would know when he was around my dad. Turns out he called him a month or two before, flew down and took my dad to dinner, and then flew back that same night. I was clueless. And my mom is NOT one to be able to keep a secret.
He has also had the ring since JUNE. Which I totally thought he didn''t have yet.
Anyways, at our hotel you can reserve a private dinner for two on a rock jutting out over the ocean, or on the beach. My FI had reserved the dinner on the beach (again, without me knowing it). Its beautiful, they light tiki torches and serve you a four course meal, rose petals on the table and around you, then light a bonfire where you can toast marshmallows. Perfect, right? Well, we got rained out!!! The poor boy...
Long story short, we had the romantic dinner up at the nice restaurant, then we took a walk out on the rock overlooking the beach. All of a sudden he was on his knees. Don''t remember what he said. I didn''t even look at the ring, in fact he had to say don''t you want to look at your ring???
It''s perfect, exactly what I wanted. Now I am a grown-up engaged lady. Weird! I am one of those girls with a ring on her finger!
To all the frustrated LIW''s- I was so frustrated and annoyed and thought he was making no plans whatsoever, and he was the entire time. And whenever I would read another LIW that said the same thing, I would think, but my BF isn''t like that and there''s no way...And I was wrong. So take a deep breath, trust your man, and enjoy the anticipation! Cause this wedding thing is a whole other drama!
Oh, and the rock jutting out is called "La Rocca", so we joking call my ring "La Rocca" (The Rock!"). Love.
