(must be the hardest thing to get a diamond for someone "in the business".)
It is awesome- I can''t wait to see more pics.

Jennifer that Pair of Pears is to die for. Hmmmmmmmmm
Another great piece to add to your lovely collection.

I am so excitd thinking about cflutist''s reaction in a little bit!

Not hard to imagine at all, dear !

Now, thinking of all that chain of coincidences, what if she comes home to annouce she just got that 5 carat diamond after all... and it''s an emerald cut

Oh my!!

Websailor, that is an awesome oval..it''s just gorgeous...I know CFlutist is going to love it... and Jen, I have always admired Oprah''s pear shaped earrings, they are super delicious and the pics came out just great

I don''t mean to hijack..but hey this should just be called the upgrade thread because everyone has something new..
Well....hubby has been saving up $$ to put into a few diamond projects we had in mind. So he just calls me on the phone from work, and tells me he just got the raise and new position he has been waiting for. He is a lead health information analyst in NY Presb. Hosp and has just been appointed to oversee every branch of the Hosp. This means a very substantial raise. So he tells me to indulge my wildest dream and go ahead and put an order in for my fantasy RHR. Here it is:

I am so-so happy

Sevens,
I have played the lottery so much, and it''s finally paid off. In Georgia, most of the lottery money is invested in the school system, so I''ve always justifed it as a donation to the schools
11.gif
Now on to the project!!!! As you know I really want to upgrade my diamond earrings and I''ve tossed around the idea of diamonds on a wire. Well I''m just going to get a new pair on a wire and have Leon make them! Here is the set I''d like to duplicate and have the diamonds total 4ct.

lemetod4e.jpg

And Sevens...... you know I''ve been drooling over all the asschers...so YES that is the stone I''m looking for and will hope to have a ring made similar to this one. I really feel like I''m living someone elses life right now...I''m just sooo excited

I am speechless !!!!!! OK, I am trying to calm down here but it is very difficult. It is a very beautiful oval, just like the one I had before but only bigger. Nice girdle outline too.

Just got of the phone with websailor, other than the many thank yous, you''re so sweet, how could you etc. was the
"we need to talk" when he gets home tonight (wanted to keep the call short since he doesn''t like to talk on the cell phone while driving). He''s going to be read the riot act for spending that kind of money on another diamond !!!!!!
29.gif

Now what am I going to do with it while at work? Leave it in my purse? Put it in my pocket?, Lock it in my desk? or in one of four lateral filing cabinets in my office? Oh boy ... this is bad timing on websailor''s part. On top of that, in about an hour, I have to make a presentation to senior management about a huge project we are implementing in two weeks. Sure makes it difficult to concentrate. OMG, and my oatmeal is cold now.

I better get to work if I want to keep my job.

and congrats on that nice lil rock!

HI:

For one, I am glad these were not April Fool''s jokes--(although I love a good joke)--CONGRATS ALL ROUND!

WS/CF: THAT OVAL IS TO DIE FOR--I LOVE LOVE LOVE OVALS!!!!!
emlove.gif
30.gif

JEN: FAB EARRINGS--UTTERLY BREATH TAKING!

OK I''ll stop with the caps. But it was exciting...

cheers--Sharon

Oh, I am sorry. So excited about my new oval that I forgot to compliment all of the other beautiful jewelry posted here. Jennifer, those earrings are fabulous ... don''t you think they would look nice with my pear? Libster, excellent choice ... enjoy.

Now my mind is starting to think, what am I going to do with this oval? Think it is too big for a ring since I am a size 3.75. Okay, maybe a pendant like websailor sugguested.

Oh boy, I better calm down otherwise I might mess up my presentation. No more PS this morning.

Yay!

I know it is easy to get paranoid over your stuff at work when you have such an amazing (and expensive) sparklie, but -- if your purse hasn't been stolen in all the time you've worked there, what are the chances that it'll be stolen today? It might be best to keep that baby a secret from your co-workers though, so as not to tempt them...

Wow, I can't imagine having such a big diamond -- I can't wait to see what you do with it!

OOOhhhhhh how EXCITING! That is truly a whopper!

Websailor.....you are an inspiration to all the other hubbies out there and I bet you have got as much a kick out of surprising her as she got finding the diamond!

This is such a great story...THANK YOU both for sharing!

cflutist - can''t wait to see what you decide for a setting. I am in AWE right now! ENJOY your day and your fabulous weekend ahead planning how to wear it!!
36.gif

Now I am feeling REALLY bad! Jennifer''s pear earrings are GORGEOUS! I may have to upgrade the antique oval cluster and diamond ring I was going to buy even BEFORE I buy it! Everyone else is getting a lot more stone, not just heritage! I am *very* jealous!

Deb :-(

What a wonderful surprise! You must be so excited to have pulled it all off websailor.

Jenn - gorgeous earrings.

And congratulations to Libster!

Cflutist!!!!
Were you surprised?! What a great way to end a work week with a fabulous diamond!!!! Websailor is one amazing husband!!! I have a huge smile on my face thinking of you guys!!!! I can''t wait to see how you decide to have it set
36.gif

Well...it may not be nice to hijack this thread (not that I seem to be able to do it!), but websailor's gift had a profound effect on me. Therefore, this goes *HERE* in THIS thread. I say, "in for a penny, in for a pound". If I am getting rid of a diamond, why fool around with the money? Why buy a ring I just "like", when I have longed for a diamond tennis bracelet for so long?

So I decided to order this from the Tradeshop. Yes, you have all seen it before. I have been looking at it for years. Cfultist, of course, already has TWO diamond bracelets, but I don't even have one!

I had planned to have Wink make up my bracelet when I was ready to take the plunge (sorry, Wink), but this was easy to put on a credit card! I really MAY have to take out a second mortgage on the house!

I am having this bracelet made up with .40 carat D color ideal cut stones. Each one will have an AGS certficate. Each one will be VS1 in quality. Luckily I have small wrists. Every inch is quite expensive!

Thanks, websailor and cflutist. If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have dared to pick up the phone!

Deb

Holy Moly- Deb.

That''s going to be some huge collection of ice on your wrist.
I may just have to take a trip over the Wilson bridge to view that baby!

Come anytime. Just give me notice. You all know I store things in a safe deposit box in Connecticut. I will have to make special arrangements to have it at my house :-).

Deb

Websailor, what a wonderful gesture, and a brave one, knowing how enlightened Cflutist is about diamonds. The sheer carat weight of all of her pieces worn at once would likely render her immobile

Highjacker #1 -- Jennifer -- congratulations -- your new earrings are lovely. No need to be embarassed....remember who you''re talkin'' to here.

Highjacker #2 -- AGBF -- you go girl! I want to see pics of you wearing the bracelet first w/your spinel ring, then with your tanzanite, please.

websailor- WOWZERS! How sweet! It's very hard to surprise me, too, and my darling husband is not good AT ALL at keeping secrets (which is a good thing in more than one way).

cflutist- What a beauty to add to your collection! Thinking about you being surprised made me giggle! I'm sure I'd be totally freaked out about what to do with it, too, while I was at work!!!!!

Jennifer5973- Nothing surprises me with you anymore ;) The earrings are stunning!!

Libster- I REALLY liked those earrings by Leon. (My HIJACK) I ended up having custom earrings made by Mark Morrell that were a morph of those earrings with X-Prong baskets to hold princess cuts (to match my e-ring). I LOVE them (even though they don't compare to the gargantuans on this thread!!!!!).

Aaaarrggghhh!!! My ears are still ringing! If cflutist could have reached thru the telephone lines to strangle me, she would have!
emangry.gif
Well, that and to give kisses!
emlove.gif

I did have to pull over - she got me by cell phone. At first she was kinda disjointed - "What! What! What! How big is it? What are the specs", then it was "OMG, where am I going to put it!", then it was "Is it certed, and where is the GIA report?"....

Uuuhhhmmmm, well in my defense, all I can say is this is done in true websailor tradition.... I told her the certificate was with all the other paperwork they gave me, in the back office..... After that she really started laying into me - did I know what I was doing, what is she going to do for the next hours, and did I know that her loupe was at home?

Uuuuhhmmmm, No, I thought she had one in her purse - she looks at her e-ring ALL the time, I just figured she would have one (Muttering something about women having the whole kitchen sink in their purses...). And the cert is safe at home, we can look at it tonight. It''s good - Ms YYY knows her stuff and she said all the numbers are great. All I know is that it looks stunning, just use your eyes.

It took a while to calm her down after THAT!

Bottom line is that she is stunned and I think in a few days (if I survive that long), she''ll be telling everyone how wonderful it is.... We''ll try for some better pics too.

I didn''t know about her big presentation.... I feel a bit bad about that....
15.gif

Oh Websailor..it''s is really hard to surpirse CFlutist..huh?

BTW: Libster: You won the lotto? whoa!! please please keep us posted on all your diamond purchases.

Rockupied!!!!
Have you posted pics of your earrings on PS and I missed them?! Please show me those babies. Mark Morrel is the other master and I would love to see them

Sweetpink - I LOVE your new ring! My husband agreed to pick me up one too. We're going to sell our house and move out into a travel trailor on five acres so we don't have to finance my ring!
