My fiance and I are looking into matching wedding rings, and we both like Niwaka''s designs, particularly "Solace" (can''t link to the exact ring because it''s a Flash site): http://www.niwaka.com/us/index.html. I also like "Moonlight" by Lucie, another line Niwaka carries: http://www.lucie.jp/. Opinions on these two designs, and any other suggestions on unique matching wedding rings?

Those are pretty, I like the "Moonlight" bands best! What does your e-ring look like, will you be wearing the rings together?

I opted for no e-ring in favor of a beautiful and unique wedding band to wear solo. DF likes the idea of matching bands, and I''ve loved Niwaka''s rings for years. Problem is, we live far from NYC and probably won''t have a chance to visit the store in person. The Moonlight women''s band is my favorite, but we''re not sure about the men''s band. It appears to be half high polish and half matte, but it''s hard to tell from the photo.

For refrence... Solace

And moonlight...

My personal preference is the solace... I think they are unique and beautiful. The moonlight look more classic and fairly typical for bands. I think it depends on what you are going for.

Thanks for posting the photos, poshpepper. I agree, Solace is more unique, yet I''m wondering if the design is a little too bold. I love it now, but will I feel the same way in 10-20 years? What do others think?

If you''ve loved these designs for years, and you love the Solace now, I can assure you that in 10-20 years it will be so much a part of you that you won''t fall out of love with it because it is "too bold". I think those are beautiful rings. I''d say go for it.

We purchased a Niwaka set, which we love. Since I could not see them in person, I had my cousin scout out the sets for me. One caution she had is that some of the men''s rings were somewhat dainty, almost more like ladies rings. She also had her husband, who prefers heftier rings, go along for a guy''s opinion. Just a thought. My ring is indeed thinner than a typical men''s band but I love it.

Here is another from Krikawa... it is Mokume

Whatmeworry, do you have photos of your Niwaka set you''d be willing to share?

I know that the Moonlight men''s band will be very dainty, as it''s the same width as the women''s band (3.5mm). The Solace bands are 4mm for the women''s band and 5.5mm for the men''s band. DF does have small hands, but I think Moonlight might be a little too dainty even for him. I think I''ll take the suggestion of having a friend scout out the rings. Great idea!

I don''t hate it, but it looks like it is missing a center stone...the way those 2 points come together.
