Hey IrishEyes, I share your pain; I was born 3 days before Christmas.

You'd think that our b-days being so close to a holiday people wouldn't have any trouble remembering them!

Soulsis, you have every right to be a little selfish on your b-day. I love your solution of getting the necklace for you and the merry widow for him.

You are lucky that your hubby feels bad about the situation. My hubby has got to be the densest man on the planet. I told him it was important to me that he NOT give me the dual, b-day/x-mas gift that I'm get from most people (if I get anything). What did I get one year? You got it, the dual present. What's worse is it was a friggin giftcard he picked up at the last second.

He didn't see anything wrong with this and was totally offended that I was upset; that is until I did the exact same thing to him on his

. Now he is much more conscientious.

mumu is someting very very different......

that is one lovely housecoat/bathrobe!

eta: a dragonfly necklace would be lovely with that housecoat!

peace, movie zombie

Just checking in to see if you went and got the Dragonfly!?

I came home last night and we went to get dragonfly. I tried it on and the necklace BROKE! Right in the store. She said that she'll have to order a new one for me. They only had one left in the city

Soulsis, think your self very lucky. I remember a friend received a pair of moccasin slippers and a bicycle repair kit from her so called serious boyfriend for her birthday and she had been expencting an engagement ring! To say she was shocked was an understatement. He didn''t last much longer than that (although long enough for her to march him down the jewellers and buy her 400 pound necklace).

Your housecoat looks really great, although I bet hubby''s going to freak out knowing that you need something on underneath it to make it comfortable!

You definitely deserve the dragonfly so be patient and wait for the replacement to arrive.

I had to reply to your post.......One year at Christmas time there were a ton of presents under the tree for me. I was like "wow" I must have been real good.

Anyways, When it came to Christmas Day and I went thru opening the gifts I opened a vaccum cleaner, cooking pans, and a sewing maching.......I''m like these are not gifts they remind me of more housework.

And not only that but I would have liked to pick out house stuff together since I am the one that cooks and cleans. DH got our rebate check from Costco and went crazy! aaaaaahhhhh MEN!!!! I did feel a little selfish.......but I got over it when we returned the sewing machine....I DONT KNOW HOW TO SEW!!

Sometimes guys need a smack in the forehead to get the picture. glad to hear you worked it out. Show pics when you get it!

That''s so sad...but kinda funny! My mom got stuff like that from my Dad, until she banned any household stuff from the gift list. She warned me to make sure that my husband knew that stuff like that was off limits! My husband always teases me about getting me cookie sheets or silverware for Christmas. Of course, the only thing he''ll actually buy me on his own, is flowers, cards, and scratch tickets! That''s the pathetic range of his shopping skills!

omg, household items and the like are BANNED from my christmas wish list from my husband!!!! Only my parents and in-laws and other relatives are allowed to buy me anything "house" related. DH''s list only includes "goodies" for me: nice perfume, lingerie, expensive purses, clothes and of course JEWELRY!!!!!

Although I may allow him to get me a new IPOD this year on top of the beautiful blue topaz and diamond ring that he is already getting me!!
