Maytal Hannah Perfection: 3ct Emerald Cut Ring

Gorgeous!
Thank you so much!

OMG that stone!!!

*faints*
Haha - thank you! I love it!

Absolutely stunning.

I'm going to come back to this thread and those pics again and again!

Good for you to take the day off and enjoy your new ring against the backdrop of a beautiful autumn day. I have a feeling you will always remember today and "getting acquainted" with your new ring. :)

Thank you so much for your lovely comments! Your video of your *dainty* CBI in the pub is one of my all-time favorites, so I'm glad I can return the favor! (Which reminds me that I think I'm still not sure if I've seen a thread on your final diamond studs, which are my ultimate if I win the lottery dream studs, so on behalf of everyone I hope you plan to make a thread on them at some point soon!!! :D)

Congrats on your beautiful ring! Maytal really brought the stone to life. Enjoy this beauty!

Thank you so much! And yes, Maytal is the best!!

HI:

Wow. Stunning photos! You live in a gorgeous spot!

cheers--Sharon

Thanks so much, Sharon! I love the ring and yes feel very lucky to live in a place where I get to enjoy all the colors of fall! In another life I think I would be a park ranger, haha.
Gorgeous! I mean obviously the stone is a stunner… but THAT SHANK. Who knew I could be so excited about a shank! Its just the right clean, modern, strong complement to the EC.

Who needs a skinny shank? Not this gem!

LOL - your comment made me laugh, thank you so much!! I feel exactly the same! I used to be really on board with the skinny shank trend, so I'm very glad that I had this set after I got out of that phase haha. When I see pictures of rings like Kourtney Kardashian's or from places like Ring Concierge I just envision the shanks snapping and it makes me super nervous.

So beautiful. That shank is sweet.

Thank you!! I love all the love for the shank. It's also super comfortable.
Swoon, it's gorgeous!!! And... thank you, thank you, thank you for your indecision and introduction to Maytal. Your endorsement of her work is 100% spot on. She is absolutely wonderful! I haven't been on PS in almost a year, and I come on the day you posted?! :kiss2:
Hi you!!!! Oh man, it is just fate that you logged on yesterday haha -- I am so, so glad to hear from you and see that beautiful ring in your avatar again!! I could not be happier about how all of this worked out for everyone. :kiss2: Hope you are doing well!!!

So beautiful! I too love the shank and the combination of elegance but strength in the setting. There's nothing quite like a beautifully made solitaire with a gorgeous diamond.

Thank you so much! I had debated other setting options but at the end of the day I'm just a solitaire person, and I'm so happy with how this came out.
Classic and dreamy! Congratulations!

Thank you! I've promised my husband that this is it, and for once I think I can actually keep that promise haha.

So very beautiful! A large, gorgeous EC always makes my heart flutter!

Thank you so much -- and I'm sure you are still loving your stunning EC ring as well!! :kiss2:

AMAZING!!!! Wow wow wow. The diamond and setting - everything - is perfection!! Enjoy

Wow, your EC is stunning, and I'd love to see some modelling shots of your bezel earrings too!

 Hi, just over here, drooling

Gorgeous stone and setting! Ugh, that makes me want an EC so much! Maytal does such beautiful work! Love the bezel studs, as well!

Thank you so much!! I definitely feel lucky.

Wow, your EC is stunning, and I'd love to see some modelling shots of your bezel earrings too!

Thank you! I will do my best to get some ear shots of the studs soon -- those pictures are always the hardest, and my husband is not the best with photos. My toddler might be able to do a better job lol

 Hi, just over here, drooling

Thank you so much! (And side note that your avatar makes me laugh)

Thank you so much DS! But don't you have a killer antique step cut already lol....I think the next on your list is still the Rolex ;-)

And thank you re: the studs too! But I think finally getting my perfect ring has just reinforced how much I love diamonds, and that I will have to get to something in the ballpark of your studs before I have the same feeling about my studs as my ring, sigh.

WOW! Amazing! The setting is perfection!

I agree with you about working with Maytal. She's the best!

Thank you so much!! And you have the ultimate Maytal collection :kiss2:

I adore the profile few. That U shaped setting is stunning.

It is a beautiful ring. I am sure you will be happy every time you see that blinding sparkle! Congratulations!

I'm obsessed with this ring, that emerald cut is insanely beautiful, job well done!

Just came back to admire your ring @SandyK. This clean bold look gives me a little FOMO, which is good actually cause it is real eye candy to enjoy. You know, if you're of a mind, a few random hand shots would not go unappreciated. ;-)

Came across your ring looking for solitaire Emerald cut inspo. So gorgeous. Is there a reason you chose the flat band? Do you know how wide it is? I’m going to be setting a 2 carat. The proportions on yours are just beautiful.

Thank you so much! That is one of my favorite parts too. And love the ring in your avatar! :kiss2:Would love to have a champagne diamond as a RHR someday...

Thank you! It definitely makes me very happy, and it's nice to be on PS with kindred spirits who get it :D (your avatar ring is stunning too!!)

Thank you very much! I'm giving Maytal all the credit for making it happen--and if I recall correctly, I think your gorgeous rings are also Maytal projects!

Haha--I will do my best! I meant to get some good shots in the Vegas lighting but got distracted. I was also just about to ask you for an update on your watch, but I think that is in the watch thread, so I am going to head over there next!!

Thank you - your EC sounds beautiful, and I can't wait to see how you set it! So exciting.

I kept this stone loose for a couple years before actually setting it, and during that time I wore it around in one of those temporary stone holders, which had a rounded shank.

I tried to visualize what setting would look best with this stone, and I just kept coming back to something that was more angular to match the lines of the EC. I wanted something that had kind of an architectural feel to it, if that makes sense. I thought about doing a three stone or tapered baguette setting, but I've realized that I'm just a solitaire person. I also thought it would be cool if the reverse taper mimicked the look you would get from a tapered baguette setting, so that was part of my goal/inspiration too. I think the shank is around a 2.3mm and tapering down to 2mm, so on the more substantial side. Hope that helps!

Found a perspective shot on my phone, and here is my EC while casually browsing PS...I think Oprah's earrings would match quite nicely, that would solve my stud dilemma! :D:D

Looks so fabulous Sandy!! Love it.:kiss2::kiss2: Thank you for the awesome perspective shot.

Having an imagine, right now!
"You get a stud, and you get this stud, you get all the studs!" next on Oprah's Favorite Things give away!
Wouldn't that be the best ever?

Your emerald cut is so beautiful…The setting is just perfect for it. Beyond gorgeousness!

@SandyK would you mind saying what size your finger is? Ring is gorgeous!

Of course! Size 6.

My fingers are on the short/stumpy side and my style is pretty minimalist, so I decided awhile back that I was going to wear this ring by itself, no wedding band. I'll eventually get some sparkly bands for my right hand though, always need to have a project.... :D

Lol sign me up!! I like you how think. And yeah I wouldn't even need a full pair of studs, I'd be happy to just take one off her hands...

Swoon. It's amazing. :kiss2:

Oh cool. Mine is too but they’re long. I need to go back to the solitaire thread and find a band. Mine will be a 2carat.

Nice - I love to see perspective shots! And I like your style!

Where did you find your EC? I'm starting to casually search for one myself, preferably an antique cut.

Your BG EC is going to be incredible, I'm so excited to see hand shots once it is set!! Hope you don't have to wait too long.

Aww, thank you! I am a long time admirer of everything you post, haha.

That is so exciting about your EC search!! I found mine by obsessive searching online; it was listed on Adiamor and then I noticed it was also listed on IDJ's website, so I reached out to IDJ to ask if they could let me know their opinion on the cut and whether there were any negative effects from the SBF. Yekutiel has a really great eye for ECs, although I'm not sure how much IDJ does with antique ECs. I think it is still worth it to reach out just to see and so Yekutiel can keep an eye out for you, especially because IDJ is pretty competitive when it comes to prices. I love seeing the antique ECs that Grace posts, but they always seem so pricey!

I can't wait to see what you end up with -- what are you looking for in terms of stats?

Thanks so much for the info! I see you posted about IDJ in the beginning - somehow I missed that. I probably won't be ready to purchase until the spring, but I'm starting to look now so that I'll have a good idea of what's out there and be ready to act when the right stone comes along at the right time. Step cuts seem much trickier to sort through than RB or even OECs.

I love antique cut square emeralds. 3 CT would be amazing, but realistically I expect around 2 CT in my budget, preferably under $25K. No tint, though I've read that these cuts are very forgiving, so I could probably go down to I color. This is the dream below (4.5 CT), but the price is way out of my range: $73K!

I will definitely keep IDJ in mind.

That one is gorgeous!! I think you will be able to get a really good size stone with your budget, especially if you can be patient.

This sounds kind of odd because we are still talking about large sums of money, but I consider myself kind of a bargain diamond hunter, as I always prefer stones with fluorescence and lower (eye clean) clarity. My EC (3ct, F, VS2) was $28,300 because of the SBF, and before that I had a 4ct H, SI1 (eye clean) EC w/medium fluor that cost $35k. (I bought those a couple years ago and I know prices have changed, but you can still get a good discount if you are open to fluorescence and/or lower clarity...)

Ooh, I am only just seeing your AMAZING hand & perspective shots of your AMAZING ring! :kiss2: :kiss2:

This is absolutely everything in an emerald solitaire for me. It's breath takingly beautiful.

You are so sweet - thank you so much!

Also just a quick note that I need to update my preloved listing for my Brian Gavin studs in the Maytal Hannah bezel setting, but I think my husband is on board with me dropping the price to $11,850 (current retail for the diamonds is about $16k by wire transfer, before sales tax).
