I'm curious if anyone has a rose gold wedding set, but wears yellow gold earrings and/or necklace at the same time. I feel very comfortable mixing rose gold with my white metals, but I am not sure about mixing it with yellow gold. Thank you!

I prefer the warmer metals in general so I see no issue mixing rose and yellow gold. I've also worn silver/white gold with my rose gold set and just depends on my outfit and how I feel. Wear what you want!

i enjoy wearing jewelry of different tone metals, all the time. i find it much more interesting to look at than matching metals. yellow gold and rose gold together is softer and less of a contrast than white metal such as platinum with yellow gold or rose gold

Thank you for your replies @alltheflorals and @Big Fat Facets! I think I might try it! For some reason I just love rose gold for rings and bracelets, but tend to love yellow gold for earrings and necklaces. My jewelry collection is small, so I don't have many options to mix and match at this point. However, hopefully my collection will grow. I want to be able to wear my favorite things together.

It's really easy to mix and match because it's so subtle and having the two gold colors split bodily like that makes it even easier. Have fun with it, that's the point!

I have a yellow gold set and am wearing a rose gold necklace. I thought it was yellow gold until I put them right next to each other. I love warm metals!

Just try it =)2
sometimes its just getting used to something new

I'm trying! I like to try jewelry out by buying an inexpensive version first and seeing how often I wear it, and what I think of it. I did that with a rose gold ring, and I do love it, but unfortunately all the rose gold plating has worn off at this point! Not quite ready to splurge for the real deal yet, but hopefully soon! I showed the ring to my husband and told him it was rose gold and he said "no, that is silver". lol!

I have YG earrings and necklace and all my rings happen to be WG. I don't see an issue with mixing it although my dad is nuts about it. LOL do you what you love and wear what you love, it's more for you than anyone else :)

Sounds like I should feel free to mix and match at will!

YES!

I love mixed metals in all combinations! Today I am wearing a rose gold solitaire with a yellow gold wedding band and I have yellow hoops in one peircing and silver hoops in the other.

Here's a picture of the rose and yellow together (both in a satin finish).

I say wear whatever color combinations you like!

Thank you for that. I have the same issues like OP. RG and WG good, all together in one piece (like Cartier) good, but hesitant towards RG and YG. Since I have little YG pieces (but I do like them) I end up not wearing them at all. So I need more examples of mixing YG and RG, please!

I prefer not to wear yellow and rose together. My feeling is that they detract from each other and visually compete. Rose is such a rich, lush, soft look, while yellow is brighter and more eye catching: together, it's neither one look nor the other.

I also think it detracts from the flow of the look - rather than giving a general, overall hue, the eye has to readjust with each piece.

For some people, that eclectic look is exactly what they're looking for - and more power to them. For me, I prefer a more understated look, so stay with one metal at a time. I also coordinate my metals with what color I'm wearing, and I wear rose gold and yellow gold with different colored clothes - so that means I wouldn't wear the two together, as normally one of those metals will go better with the color I'm wearing than the other.

I know a lot of people feel you should wear whatever you like - and to an extent I agree with that. But I have a beautiful black, wool Armani dress that I love - and a pair of brown lace up walking shoes that I adore. Together, they'd look odd and jarring. So I think the 'wear what you love' approach only works to an extent. It depends whether you want to put out an eclectic, je ne sais quoi feel (nothing wrong with that and very attractive when done correctly) - or a more coordinated understated look.

The choice is yours, of course.

Thank for weighing in on this @mrs-b. I want to hear all opinions! I remember you have suites in all the color metals, so I was not surprised to read your thoughts on this. I think I need to experiment and see how I feel about it. I would not describe my look as eclectic.

Beautiful! This reminds me of a sunset - so warm and lovely. I also adore the brushed finish.

i have a rolling ring with rose, yellow, white, and green gold that i wear that to tie things together when i want to mix rose & yellow...it's silly but it mentally bridges the gap for me ;-)

I like that idea!

Thanks Daisy! I have never thought of myself as artistic, so that is sweet of you to say!

it is 5 skinny rings: 18k yellow, rose, unplated white, and green gold, and one sterling silver. goes with everything....! It's on the loose side so wear it either w/ my engagement ring or on my middle finger.

That is a gorgeous ring - where did you get it? I love how they're smooth and flat

I dont, but I totally would!! I recently bought a preowned tiffany elsa peretti mini heart in yellow gold, to wear with my mini eternal circle, also yellow gold. But i would have bought a rose heart in a second, if i had found one for a good price. I still might, should I come across one....:lol-2:

I wear mixed colored metals all of the time. I think it's adds visual interest to the jewelry. Lately I've been wearing a thin 16 inch rose gold "choker" style chain with a longer 20 inch chain. I like the look and the subtle contrast.

And I especially love mixed metals when it comes to "stacked" rings. And most "rolling" rings I've seen are usually white/yellow/rose, i.e. Cartier
