Would anyone know if this diamond is modified brilliant or hybrid by looking at the attached photos...To me it is tough to really tell as i see the sparkle or crushed ice appearance but it doesn't look like it is fully crushed ice

Edit...is this your ring/stone? Is this one you're considering buying?

Im considering buying it...it says cushion modified brilliant on the gia report but is hybrid built into the same category because based on the pic off the gia report it looks like some of the facets extend out longer almost like a hybrid...the pic attatched i found off google which has the same facets as the one im looking at but says hybrid68208A71-4625-4302-BD2B-D843CBF2AE15.jpeg

I'm pretty sure that GIA uses a generic drawing of what GIA considers a Cushion Modified Brilliant. It is not the actual stone you
are interested in. It is not to proportion. It is used to plot the clarity.

None of your pictures are straight on so its hard to tell much about the stone but it would not be a cushion that I would be interested
in. Does it look like the stone you posted in the text I quoted? It really doesn't look like that in the pictures you posted in
your first post (or I'm not seeing it because its at an angle).

You can post a video...I've never done it but I think you have to put it on youtube (or a video site) and then provide
a link to it.

The stone is so blurry that I cant really tell much. Cant differentiate any faceting pattern under the table.

Is it returnable? Just in case you get it and it doesn't perform the way you had expected/wanted.

I uploaded it to youtube here is the link...

Can you give a little more detail about the stone (carat, color, clarity, cost)?

Do you want a crushed ice cushion?

This thread has a lot of good info on crushed ice cushions. Specifically the videos...

Crushed iced cushion cuts can be very leaky so if its not specifically what you are looking for, I would recommend
looking at some of the other cushion cuts.

This is also a good video

This is a 2.0 carat D color VS1 with no fluorescence...it is $20,000....what do u think about that diamond for the price not really sure how i feel about the crushed ice i think i like the more traditional look a little better

The price is a little high like $1$-2k. Fairly typical if you are buying in a brick-and-mortar store with a little more overhead
than online sites. If I was spending $20k for a stone (is that the stone only or does it include the setting?), I would want to know
a lot more about the stone. I would want an Aset image or an ideal scope image to check on leakage. Ask them if they can get
those for you and post them here. You don't want a leaky stone for that kind of money.

Yes that is just for the diamond and Is that something they have to send away for or do they do that in the shop?

They do it in shop if they have the simple equipment. It tells whether the stone is returning light or leaking and at what angles
the light is coming from.

Here is what some cushion asets look like.

Do you have the GIA report number for the stone you are looking at? We might be able to find it somewhere that has an
up close video.

Yea the gia number is 1182731200...Someone also told me that the table and depth % play a role in leak leakage more so vs the cut idk if there is any truth to that
