Just curious. What is the consenus? desireable? Interesting?

Interesting but not really desirable.

To me, definitely interesting, and desirable in the sense I own a decent faceted sample for my collection box... but I would not myself put money into setting it.

Interesting, yes. Would I set it? I don't think so...but, not because it is Moldavite, just because its not my favorite color green. I'd say it is definately worthy of jewelry, if you are loving the color.

Mine is a pretty nice stone, its about 8ct..its kind of a sage green I guess...very unique color. Unique, but not necessarily gorgeous.

I only snapped a really quick picture of mine, but at least you get the drift...its a pretty nice stone, well cut, and big.

I have a 2ct piece that looks exactly like Chris's. The only difference is mine is set in a ring and not as well cut as his. I bought it set but would never have set it if I had bought it loose as I don't like the colour. I can best describe it as bottle green.

Kim: Welcome Back! That is an awesome picture - I love its wormy quality and agree with you that it looks so much better.

I'd also say interesting. My step grandmother and step aunt are real new age types and they both wear moldavite rings.

Thanks, minous! I have a couple of things coming up, so I should be revisiting the forum in the near future - but it's a dangerous place to hang around when you see something that makes you go "oh, I want something like that!" every time you visit! ;)

It's not my moldavite, btw. I do have a smaller specimen, though - but no plans to set it.

To me, it is more interesting in its natural state. Once faceted, it looks a bit boring and ordinary.
