I didn't want to threadjack the tsav halo thread but here are some similar stones I picked up a few years ago and which i'm thinking may end up in several projects one of which might be a brooch.

tourmalines and peridots:

Gorgeous! I love the fact that the tourms are not uniform, but have both shades of pink and shades of green. I would love to see your ideas for a brooch, too.

well, I have no ideas....!
so i'm open to suggestions........

I just thought that some should be in a brooch.......
and there's enough to do stackers.....

I buy stones w/o having a specific project in mind.......

and I've always loved this coil ring but i'm thinking my stones might be too small and/or that being faceted and not cabs might look strange:

Gorgeous! I would do a high karat gold bangle with the gems burnish set. If I had all the money in the world that is. :)

picture doesn't capture how pink the "pinks" really are....i'm not really a pink type person but I do really like these.
bangles is an interesting idea.......

Love the clear color of the peridots; princess isn't one of my favorite cuts but looks terrific in those. What kind of brooches do you like? Geometric, free form, shaped-like-something, modern, traditional, antique? I like the idea of bangles too.

what kind of brooches do I like? that's a good question!
i'm not a dressy person but I have a brooch I got at ren faire that I wear on my vest all the time. and I get comments on it all the time....made of leather, bronze, and copper. certainly not a bejeweled brooch.
I have some other small pins I've picked up in my travels and wear on a hat.

while I like the idea of bangles, I don't wear bracelets much.
necklaces and rings and of course earrings are "my thing".
a brooch that converts to a pendant might also be an idea.

as you can tell, i'm not in much of a hurry!
