I don''t think there''s anything wrong with spending a grand on a handbag if this is the one you love AND you''re a professional in a work setting. . . I work at home and am totally unproductive (allocating funds from bills to buy lotions and shoes rather than actually "working") so I have no excuse for my bad spending habits - lol! If worked outside the home, I wouldn''t hesitate to spend more so I would look put together. . .Date: 5/22/2005 8:45:46 PM

Congrats on the new bag! You deserve it!
MC...I''ll have to find it, it''s the horsebit...but on ebay they are ''only'' $200...so I''m thinking that they HAVE to be fake. Dunno...then I like the Dooney again...but neither have a zipper...so that''s not really safe. I guess I''m just a big tease...I bought neither...And I totally know what you mean, the ones I really love are closer to a grand...but that really is insane...but then I think how I get one new bag every two years or so....dunno...I say you wait until you find THE bag!
And I concur about fake bags...I love czs, etc....but when it comes to bags I just can''t do a fake. Don''t know why....
I think the black purse you picked out is perfect! The one I purchased ended up being a mistake not only because of size, but because it clashed with nearly half of my outfits. Patterns can be a bit tricky to fit into a wardrobe so unless you have a handbag addiction & have 20 to mix and match, it seems unwise to spend so much on something you can''t use every day.Date: 5/22/2005 9:25:30 PM

Even websailor said ''BORING'' ... that''s why I had to special order it at the Coach store, they didn''t
want to waste space displaying it ... LOL
Here''s one I just could not see myself carrying:

Comfort in an under-the-arm style is a huge deal for me too. I've discovered that I cannot stand purses with two straps because one strap always slips off my shoulder, which is pain when I'm struggling with shopping bags, kids and general chaos. . .the best, most comfy purse I've purchased this year has been a simple black pebble-stone purse by Fossil that sits perfectly on my shoulder. Only $78 and I love itDate: 5/22/2005 9:33:20 PM

purses are SO personal, mostly i shop by SHAPE and how it fits under the arm....as that is how I prefer to wear my items. I don't like items I have to carry or sling over my body...but my mom only buys those two types!
