Check out this emerald that precision facetor George Ellis recently cut for his wife.
Muzo mine.
Untreated(no oil)
It was 1.2cts in the rough and was cut to a .70ct. An excellent 60% return!
It's a shade darker in the picture due to head shadow

why must you torture us like this?

Niiiiiiiiiiice.

I am loving it from afar.

A most wonderful color, congratulations!

George does an amazing job on most everything I have seen him cut. This one is no exception. Looks like he landed a really good piece of rough to start with too. Thanks for sharing!

OMG Jason, that looks exactly like mine. It's interesting because my appraiser said she thought it was Colombian but for some reason I had always assumed Siberian (something my Mum had said) but I've never had it confirmed. Pretty sure mine's no oil/treatment of any kind also because it's looked exactly the same for 100 years without any re-treatment!!!!

Thanks so much for the photo.

What a pleasure to see first thing in the a.m.! Way to wake up! Lucky you too, LD.

A delicious bit of green goodness - a treat to see they still exist somewhere =)

Very pretty. His wife is very fortunate.

Excellent crystal on that stone.

It still cost him a pretty penny even only being a 1.2ct rough crystal.
