I had a great experience working with Caren of DanielM to set a tsavorite I bought from Bruce Bridges. My camera does not take good pics, so I am just posting the ones Caren took, even though they, too, don't do *full* justice to the ring. The tsavorite is more green IRL and the diamonds are sparkly, not just white like in the pics.

It's a very substantial ring, both in terms of weight (a total of 7 grams! My Ritani Endless Love platinum e-ring, by comparison is 4 grams!) and finger coverage. It's actually bigger-looking than I anticipated, as this was my first time buying a loose stone and then setting it. All these lovely stones look so tiny when they are loose but they really get presence when set! I love it though, and I'm sure it will "shrink" within a couple of days

Details:

Stone: 1.38 carat cushion-cut Medium-Dark tsavorite w/ slight blueish hues; 6.99 x 5.69 mm
Ring: Platinum bezel-setting with milgrain and grooved shank
Melee: 0.01 / 1.3 mm diamonds; ~0.25 carat TCW

LOVE it!!!!

LOVELY!! What a beautiful tsav and setting design and I love Carens photography! Show us your hand shots too! :D

Love the color of the stone, and love the delicacy of the shank. Very nice!

I love it! Tsavorites agree my favorite stones (other than sapphires, lol) and yours is a beauty, and the setting is quite nice. I have had one ring done by DanielM and found them very easy to work with and loved the result. I know people in the past have been dissatisfied with their bezel work, how do you find yours?

Thank you for your lovely comments - I can't stop staring at my right hand  IRL, there are NO yellowish tones to the tsav - in Caren's first pic, I see a little yellowish in there (along with more extinction than it has, too).

distracts: I'm very happy with the quality of their bezel work. It's pretty much perfect, to my eyes.

Very pretty and unique ring!

If I had that jewel on my finger, I wouldn't be able to stop staring at it!

Beautifully done and a well put together ring.

Gorgeous ring & the stone is just beautiful! Congratulations -- in my crystal ball I see many happy years wearing it.

Gorgeous stone and the setting is beautiful! :appl: More pics!

Now that's refreshing to the eye! So glad to see examples of danielm work ai have a project and have read positive things about him. Enjoy your new ring.

Thanks everyone!!

These were my 2 inspiration pics, only I eventually decided to take out the airline, and obviously my tsav was a rectangular cushion, not a square cushion, so that changed the overall shape. I think they did a great job getting the melee proportions to be similar to the inspiration pics.

Gorgeous!

I love the stone..its that medium-dark color green that's become my favorite color! I just bought a Chrome Tourmaline that color that will eventually be a ring for me. Its just a killer color, and it contrasts nicely with the diamonds. Congrats!

I had to come back and ogle some more. I don't know what more I need than that gorgeous work to convince me to work with Caren and Dan. So beautiful, just so beautiful. This coming from a non-halo person!

Beautiful ring. I love Tsavs especially the color of yours. Enjoy!

You should work with them! (/enabling :naughty: ) Honestly, they have such great responsiveness, and where else are you going to get to work with a jeweler on a custom design with back-and-forth discussion about certain elements, see multiple CADs, etc., and then get (relatively) great pricing? As a comparison, I found a lovely tsavorite ring at a locally-owned jeweler who specializes in colored stones (and it was lovely, I'll give them that)... but the TCW was less and it was in white gold instead of platinum. It was listed at $5500 but they offered me a discount because it'd been in stock for awhile... $4400. Let's just say it didn't have nearly the presence of this ring, and I spent approximately half.

What made you decide to remove the air-line? I think having that in really accentuates the stone.

Really beautiful! The setting turned out great!

Chrono, there were several reasons for omitting the airline: I LOVE the airline in the first inspiration ring I posted, but this ring was already pushing me to my limits in terms of finger coverage (LOL - I'm sure as I get used to bigger CS, that might change). It already looks pretty honkin' big on my hand now; the airline would have made it even bigger. Second, my stone isn't square and I really think I like the airline look better on a square or round stone. Finally, it was my first time using Daniel M and he was much lower-priced than some of the other quotes I got. I wanted to see his quality of work in person first before giving them a more complicated assignment. (I've seen rings with uneven airlines, so it seems like a good, perfectly spaced airline might make a ring project substantially more difficult to execute properly?)

I have a Ritani Endless Love round halo on my left hand. The diamond is 6.2mm and the halo has half-pointers. It looked huge to me before, on my 5.5 size finger, and now... poor thing, LOL

Tara, the ring is beautiful!
Fantastic green and excellent finger coverage - and a niiice bezel. :)
I hope you'll take more photos!! :D
