Thanks to everyone for your sweet comments. I am loving the simple solitaire setting too (which is a good thing because it''s all that was in the budget!). I am really enjoying the ring and am surprised by the presence it has on my hand.

I think it would be awesome to get it set in a bezel like Laurenthepartier''s amazing asscher engagement ring. Maybe I''ll be able to do that in the next year or so. Until then, I plan to enjoy the heck out of my sweet lil'' stone in its sweet lil'' setting!

So I just wanted to update my thread to say that I will never upgrade my sweet little diamond... I have taken it to be reset into a halo setting though! The halo I chose is from Scott Kay's new 14k gold line, and I LOVE it... I can't find pics anywhere, but I will post before and after pics when I get my ring back in 3 weeks. The sample halo was for a round stone, but the salesperson I was working with said they would create the halo for my emerald cut stone.

The setting is from the Luminaire line, and it has a diamond halo, three little bezel diamonds on the side of the setting (nestled under the stone) and no diamonds on the shank of the ring... It's modern and vintage at the same time. I am excited!
