My 8.26 ct Blue Sapphire

Otherwise known as "my precious" (LOL!).

My husband took some quick pictures last night of the jewelry I was wearing - he''s got a new camera so hopefully we will be seeing some nice pics of the rest of my collection soon! But for now...

Here is my 8.26 ct blue sapphire ring. It''s a cushion cut with diamond traps on either side. I

this ring! I am a huge sapphire fan & have always dreamed of owning a big blue sapphire & this year my dream came true!

These shots were taken with indoor, low lighting and a variety of flash & no flash as my husband experimented with his camera. I''ll get some pics of the sapphire outside/in better light so you can see the color in it''s full glory (gorgeous blue and purple flashes)! But for now....

The ring was designed & made by SES and I got it from Boone and Sons. The setting is platinum. I love the traps on the sides because they keep it from shifting around on my finger and also keep me from inadvertantly touching the sapphire with the side of my pinky or middle finger. (With big stones I am super picky about fingerprints! Silly I suppose but there you are.

)

I do love it. When I saw it at the store I wasn''t thinking about buying anything (we were there picking out my hubby''s new wedding ring) --- but I tried it on & then couldn''t stop thinking about it for two days. I finally mentioned to my husband how much I liked it & had always wanted a blue sapphire etc. And he said that if I liked it that much I should get it because he thought it looked beautiful on me & I wasn''t ever going to find a better one (especially for the price they gave me!). So it was a lucky set of circumstances that led me to this ring.

Ummmmm....actually yeah.

Not on purpose though! Mostly because I need hubby''s help to take photos & we are hardly ever together & not busy with kids, dogs, housework etc.. while the sun is out! That''s why you get low light indoor taken at midnight photos.
