Lady A, that is a superb ring, is it similar to Princess Margaret''s e- ring?
30.gif
Not to Princess Margaret''s - hers apparently was a ruby surrounded by a cluster of diamonds. Like Sarah Ferguson''s ring. But now you''ve got me curious because I do seem to remember a royal ering that was mainly just a large blue sapphire with no frills. I''ll have to research that...

It''s all been said before, but I''ll add my WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!
I love it all. Is the WB an eternity?
Yes - my wedding band is an eternity with crisscut baguette''s. Here''s the link to more pictures of that ring:

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-crisscut-band-my-asscher-finally.72784/

A jeweler reminded me that Marilyn Monroe''s ering from Joe Dimaggio was an eternity ring with baguette diamonds too - which I thought was cool.

That''s a beautiful ring. Such a lovely sapphire and I love your e-ring as well.

LA,

Do you need a brace to hold your hand up under the weight of that ROCK?

We need an "I''ve fallen & I can''t get up!" icon.....

I don''t think I''ve ever seen something so beautiful before. I dream of a sapphire like that. You make sure and enjoy that beauty and wear it in good health. Its a knockout, a stunner, a beauty and looks wonderful on your hand!

WOWZA!!

(and, it is my birthstone, so should you ever tire of it, you can send it my way!)

Wow, gorgeous! Congratulations!

Anne

LOVE that awesome size! That is a statement piece. You MUST post pics of it outdoors, as I know that sapphires have such an interesting color change between in the indoor and outdoor lights. Can''t wait for more..

That is a really impressive looking sapphire. I love your wedding set too!

I would def. bring this one on a PS GTG!
Wowser, that is GORGEOUS!!!!!!! If you wear it to a PS GTG, I''d sure love to see it! Did you get it at B&S in Chevy Chase? (Did you ever get to that jeweler in Potomac? Just curious...) We''ll have to meet up someday so I can see your fabulous jewelry!

(BTW, in answer to a long-ago question, I did go to Mervis in Rockville when they had that trunk show in December. I think it was you who asked me.)

I may have got it wrong, I remember my Mother years ago getting a gift from a woman''s magazine, it was a copy of a royal engagement ring which looked very similar to yours. Could it be Princess Alexandra perhaps? Curious now!

That ring is just incredible! What a beautiful sapphire!

**sigh** Be still my heart LadyA, that ring is beautiful, just like all your other pieces.
21.gif

Fantastic ring!! That could put someone''s eye out!

Beautiful. I recently saw an estate piece ring in person with a huge beautiful blue sapphire like yours, and they really are to die for. I hope you wear yours a lot, because this one looked like it hadn''t been worn at all, and what a shame. I kept thinking, how sad, and that she should have worn it more....

Oh I try to wear it as much as possible. Blue is my favorite color so I have lots of outfits that compliment the ring & whenever I get dressed up I usually choose the big sapph. Le sigh. I
30.gif
it so much that sometimes I wear it when I''m in my jammies at night, knitting and watching tv. LOL! Believe me - the sapph is not suffering a lack of love.

I did! Did you see it there? It was the biggest one in the case & when I saw it I thought - now that''s what I''m talkin about!! I also got my hubby''s new wedding ring there as well as that rose cut necklace. Oh and also a little sapphire and diamond bracelet I haven''t posted yet. They have the best (in my opinion) jewelry in the area. I think because they have a good selection of really nice colored stones - which I like.
1.gif
And they have a ginormous XYZ colored yellow radiant diamond I tried to talk my Mom into - LOL! It''s 11.50 cts. If I had the $$$......
2.gif

I did try to get to Edward Ayre but they were closed.
40.gif
I''ll get there sometime.

Did you get anything at the Mervis trunk show? (So nosey huh?
9.gif
) I''ve gotten several pieces through them & really like them. I got the white gold DA Gold bracelet that I just posted in another thread at that trunk show. Did you see the JB Star stuff there? Fabulous!! Huge huge stones & fabulous emeralds especially. (That was at the VA location though).

We def. have to meet up sometime!

I searched around & couldn''t find anything exactly like it. Marie-Chantal of Greece has a large cabochon sapphire with a diamond next to it but I doubt that is what your Mom got because it''s too recent. (It''s a gorgeous ring though!!)

Every royal ering with a sapphire was either a cluster ring - a central sapphire with a diamond surround, or a ring like SDL''s - a three stone with either a central round sapph and a diamond on either side or vice versa. The only other sapphire ring that I found was this one of Princess Michael of Kent''s. (On her ring finger - her ering is the one with the large round sapph next to a large round diamond.)

What a signature piece your RHR is - I would wear it every day as my "trademark!" The wedding set is too yummy for words!!!!!! I like your taste.

OMG! As a lover of colored stones...I am absolutely lusting over that rock! What a great Sapphire! And what is the ring in your avatar? You have one amazing collection!

Now look here, Lady Amethyst. . .

We''ve had this discussion before about you flaunting your jewels under my nose and making me feel infinitely inferior in the bling arena! We''ve talked about my jealousy, and my lust for your rings, and frankly, I''m tired of you showing off!!!

And then, to add insult to injury, weren''t you the one who posted that rose-cut diamond necklace the other day?? Geez, woman, you really know how to hurt me, don''t you?
28.gif

Seriously, I want that sapphire. You have jaw-dropping taste, and I''m in complete awe of you. It so must be lovely to be you!

The ring in my avatar is a historical one & not my own. Although I love it! It is an antique ring that Earl Spencer (Princess Diana''s brother) used as an engagement ring for his first wife Victoria Lockwood.
