My fiance walked past my car his way to pick up dinner and he called me and told me that my car got hit yet again. I was super irritated, because as I was just saying in the Dream Car thread, my car has been hit and run at least 4 times since I''ve lived in my apartment.

One of the first things I thought was that my sister''s roommate hit my car because she''s moving out and has her dad''s big truck and my car was parked right before the alley. (I should point out that it was not sticking out into the alley at all, and was well behind it!)

My sister and my fiance told me I was being silly, but as I was on the phone talking to the police to have them come take a report, my sister''s roommate was calling on the other line, and I knew I was right about her hitting my car because she never calls me. Sure enough, I got a text message right after I hung up with the police and it was her saying she hit my car.

She''s going to pay for it, of course, but I have to go back and forth between school and work quite often (I have class, then work, then class) and it''s just going to be such a pain. Ugh! I have the worst luck with this car for some reason! Just a random vent...but attached is a picture of my poor beaten down car.

Oh gosh, I am sorry, what a pain but I am glad you know who it is and hopefully they will fix it. . . still a pain though for sure!

Ugh, that''s terrible! I''m glad she ''fessed up and is going to take care of it, but she should have told you when it happened and not let you find out for yourself. Hopefully it''ll be good as new soon, though!

Ack, that''s awful! At least she took responsibility for it and will fix it.

Thanks Skippy! I know it''s not a big deal in the whole scheme of things, of course, but ugh!

Yeah, I agree! But oh well...she told me she thought maybe she just hit the curb because she was listening to music and then her car was fine, but then when she was leaving she saw it. I was like "Riiiiiiight." She fessed up, and that''s all that matters, I suppose. I think she wanted to be gone and then call me. I don''t know why-I wasn''t even that mean to her about it! She said she was sorry, I said I understood-accidents happen, etc.

Yes, but it is still stressful and a pain so I don't blame you for being bummed or annoyed about it.

Thanks Monkey! Yeah, at least my insurance won''t go up as a result!

I am so sorry to hear that. I am glad they will fix it for you but what a pain.

I''m sorry thing2!!!!

what an inconvenience... sorry to hear... glad it will be fixed and you know who hit it

That sucks - its such a pain to deal with car repairs, especially when you use your car on such a regular basis.

I''m glad she ''fessed up, and is going to pay for it, but sorry for the aggravation.

Oh no! I am sorry, but that is great that she admitted to it.

I have a similar story...it is funny "now", but not at all funny when it happened.
A year ago this past March, we were moving and that morning I parked my huge SUV in the street, not at all close to our driveway. So hubby leaves to go pick up the moving truck, comes back and starts loading it up. I walk to my SUV with my daughter because I am going to drop her off for my sister to watch. I notice that my tail light is busted, so I say to my husband "Did you hit my car"? Not only did he hit my car, he hit the mailbox as well! So I am a bit upset, but I suppose that it is not that bad.

Fast forward to that afternoon...we are over at the new house unloading and my SUV is parked in the driveway, along with the moving truck. So I am back to speaking to my husband again...he goes to leave to pick up another load at the other house, and as he pulls out of the driveway I literally see my truck coming up off the ground! Yep, he hit it again, twice in the same day, only this time he completely TRASHED the entire driver side!

I was livid! My dad said that he has never seen anyone as mad as I was...

Look on the bright side, at least you have someone else to pay for this...I basically had to pay $500 + an insurance claim since it was my husband that did it

Oh you poor things! Both of you

What an awful day!

marcyc, Freke, lovewhitediamonds, AG and DiamondDana, thanks for commiserating with my whiny post! I know it's not the worst thing in the world but I guess I just felt like venting!

Diamond Dana, I can't believe your HUSBAND hit your car twice! OMG...I would have freaked out, too! Wow-that is kind of hilarious, although I would have been furious at the time also! That will definitely go down in the family stories to tell over and over again!

ETA thanks LegacyGirl! You posted while I was typing!

Oh I''m so sorry. What a good attitude you have about it! I hope it gets mended quickly!

Dear goodness thing2of2...your poor car! I agree with Miranda that you have a good attitude about it. And thankfully it turned it wasn''t one of those things where you never find out who did it. I have had that happen before and it''s just an awful feeling

.

Thanks Miranda and LIB! I must admit that I didn''t have a good attitude when I first saw it! I tend to get over things pretty quickly, though, because what are you gonna do? I have to get it towed to the shop today so my attitude may change while I wait for the tow truck!

Oh, Thing2of2, that really sucks! It''s good you know who did it and all, but sheesh, what a pain! I feel for ya, babe!

Sorry this happened! I''m glad you weren''t in the car and she called to admit it!!

Geez...

She''s lucky you didn''t report a hit and run!

Oh, I am so sorry! Car problems are so frustrating! I am glad she admitted it, though. I hope you can get it fixed soon!

Needless to say, we are still married, lol...and I no longer have the vehicle he smashed.

HI:

Total bummer! Glad no one was hurt. BTW, my first car, a TransAm, was hit three times (not my fault) in the same spot. It was a freaking magnet!!!!!

cheers--Sharon

Thanks gwen, ahappygirl, lucky and ds! I spent about 2 hours today dealing with it and needless to say, my calm attitude about the situation started to slip away. But I got my car towed to the body shop today and I got a rental car which she is also paying for, so that makes things easier. Hopefully my car will be fixed by Friday...fingers crossed!

What is that about?! Some cars are just magnets! This car has actually been hit 4 times in the same spot, including this time! The other times did not take the entire piece off, though.

You know what it is? I think forest green cars are bad luck! Any chance your TransAm was green? My sister had a forest green car once and it was a magnet, too! No more forest green cars.

I''m so glad she fessed up. Some cars are just cursed that way.

My poor, old Geo was like that. The body was in perfect shape when I got it. Then, in the first week I had it, I got a fist sized dent on the driver''s side in the door while parked at my apartment. I called the insurance co, made an appt to get it fixed. Next day, there was another matching dent next to it, with the wheel damaged too!

Fast foward three years. I went out to get in my car after work and couldn''t open the door. Realized that the whole driver''s door had been caved in, with a ginormous dent. My friend''s boyfriend came over with a slegehammer and pounded the door open. At this point it was clearly more damage than the car was worth, the bumper and one panel and the door all screwed up, and I just said hell with it and drove it with the monster dent. There was a lot of light turquoise paint all over it, like that odd ''60s color.

A week after that, I went out to get in my car after work and it was strewn across the whole street, wheels hubcaps mirror and various bits all over the entire block. Two flats. It was totalled, complete toast. The insurance adjuster didn''t even have a body shop look at it- she just took one glance and said "oh yeah, that''s a total loss. Here''s your check." The kicker? Same light turquoise paint all over the damage. Whoever hit it a week before came back and finished my car off, I felt like it was a personal thing actually.

Good luck getting yours fixed. I hate seeing hit & run damage it makes me so ill that anyone would do that to someone else.

Oh Thing I'm so sorry about your poor car! It's good that she fessed up and she'll pay so it won't go through your insurance.

I'd be annoyed at her too for leaving it so long to come clean. And I've been on the other side of the story! I tipped off a car in a parking lot when an old lady ran out in front of me wearing neon orange tights - not kidding! - and I swerved and tipped the rear bumper of the next car over. The car was a real crock and there was already a huge hole in the bumper and of course with my luck I hit the spot where the hole was and it cracked wider. A normal bumper probably wouldn't have even had a scratch on it. I was mortified but I immediately left a note on the car with my name and number and an apology. I felt so bad about it! In the end it was only a few euros damage. I can only imagine your sister's roommate was scared to face you in person and drove home first to get her courage up to ring you. But she still should have stopped immediately and gone in and told you. Driving is a privilege and there are responsibilities that come with it. If you drive, you have to face the consequences when you have a tip.

Diamond*Dana - you must have been so mad! Oh my gosh! That's definitely one to tell the Grandkids

I don't understand why it had to go through your insurance because your husband did it - couldn't he have paid for the repairs himself?

On green coloured cars - we have a saying over here about those - 'green for grief'!

! My dad was like "I have never seen you so mad...I have never seen ANYONE that mad"! My husband did not even know he hit it the second time. I had to call him on his cell and screamed at him "YOU DID IT AGAIN! GET BACK HERE %$@#*"!

We filed with insurance because we have a deductible. We ended paying $500, but the repairs were over $3000!
