I have to admit, I''d be horribly angry at my mom too...so I can''t advise you on that...I know other people have told you your mom already probably feels terrible, which I''m sure it''s true...but at the same time I don''t think you need extra guilt trying to NOT be angry with her...

So I say take whatever time you need to sort out your feelings...

So sorry to hear about your kitty, I just lost a kitty too in May.
It''s so easy to be angry with your mom but you have to know she probably feels awful for letting him out.
He''s probably playing with strings and rolling in catnip, having the time of his life in kitty heaven

Hi, Lucy, and welcome to PS - I hope it will be a comfort to you. My cat passed away unexpectedly this summer, and PS was a good place to come and grieve and be supported by other pet-lovers.

When my kitty died, my mother was initially upset with me for not taking better care of her - not because I''d done anything but cosset her, but because anger is ... well, not a healthier emotion than grief, but a useful distraction from the loss one feels at an unexpected death. Your being upset at your mother''s going against your wishes for your cat is more than understandable (I would be feeling exactly the same way that you are), but it sounds like she just wanted him to be as happy as possible ... and his passing was a horrible, horrible accident.

I sympathize with your loss very, very much, and I wish you and your family well in your time of grief.
