Ditto Gypsy on the delicate halo if you get one - that stone is already plenty big (and lovely

). I''d consider changing the whole head of the ring, honestly - it looks kind of chunky and square to me and I feel like a more delicate and more curvy design would set off that beautiful stone so much better.

Wow... what a beautiful ring!!!
I say no on the halo too..

and i agree that maybe some thin double claw prongs, with the corners of the diamond, ever so strategically placed, right between the two prongs may help more with the roundness... [leon mege has those down to a perfection, if you need pictures to referrence whom ever does the work]

That looks like a ritani... like the classic endless love setting without the halo, but with thicker prongs..
what kind of setting is it?

The stone is large and beautiful –- definitely do not add a halo.

A change in prongs is all you need.

I think that the stone is big enough so I wouldn''t go for a halo, but I''d try and get the prongs thinned down also.

Personally I love your ring just as it is!! It is stunning!

If you are going to make a change, I would refine the prongs to a point and make them slightly less bulky. If you really want the stone to look like an oval rather than a square than I would consider a setting with prongs at N/S/E/W rather than how they are now which would highlight the shape better.

IMO, I think that your stone would like way too large with a halo.

I wouldn''t halo it, it looks huge on it''s own. I love the delicate band and I would look for a wedding band to match

I think it looks plenty big enough as it is! I''d leave it alone. I''d probably get a wedding band made like the shank of the e-ring. Beautiful ring!

Ditto!

Thritto!

Do my eyes deceive or do I spot some blue fluorescense on that beauty? I love it!

Wonderful stone - I love the shape and the facet pattern! I can see how a halo would add to the elegance of the shape, but I think that shaving the prongs down might give you the effect that you''re looking for, and you could reserve the halo for the future, perhaps?

That''s beautiful, and plenty big!
I agree with what most of the other posters said about refining the prongs, I think that will give you the effect you are looking for.
I do love that ring!

I''m with the others. The ring looks lovely the way it is, and I prefer your current setting over a halo. Did you want to reset to a halo because it''s what you like or because it''s popular right now?

The right halo will make it more oval. It is plenty big though... so I would get a very delicate halo if you get one. Congrats!!
If you was going to do a halo I would do like Gypsy has said..... a very very thin delicate halo because your stone is bangin!!!! And for the wedding band if you stay with the setting you have it would be gorgeous for the band to have the same design as the shank....

..... and also I must add.... your diamond looks twice as big as 1.90ct!!!!

What a whopper of a rock! Its stunning!

I would leave it as a solitaire and I second those who suggested to get the prongs re-done to something more delicate. Perhaps thin double prongs? This might help it appear less squarish.

Thanks to all for your input!! I so appreciate all of the positive remarks!! I think I will take all of your advice and have the prongs shaved down a bit or re-positioned so that they accent the cushion shape better. I think I was wishing I had gotten a halo because A) it would make it look bigger (what girl doesn''t want bigger?!), B) it''s very "en vouge" right now, and C) it would highlight the shape of my stone... but with that being said, I think I need to stay true to myself and not follow a trend and realize that adding a halo would really upset my fiance because it would change the entire design of the ring! Thank you so much for your input - you''ve all made me feel so much better! I now have a plan of action. I''ll keep you posted on the progress and of course post new pics when it''s fixed!!

THANKS AGAIN LADIES :-)

I think you''ll be very pleased after getting the prongs worked on. Your stone would also look amazing with the double claw prongs that I know someone posted about earlier. Can''t wait to see your ring after you have it worked on.... it will be just like getting it all over again once you''ll get it back... and please take alot of pictures for us all to go into drool mod over!

Congrats! It''s a gorgeous ring. I wouldn''t do a halo, either, and I''d get the prongs made a little bit more dainty, too. But, it looks fab as is!

It''s lovely! Congratulations!!!

Congratulations! It''s a beautiful stone and setting.

Mine is a similar shape, and I love what the double claw prongs do for it. Definitely check that out as an option. I think they go really well with your setting.

Can I ask what ring size you are?? I think the stone is beautiful on it''s own. I think the halo may hide it. Gorgeous ring!
