To me fluorescence can look violet sometimes. I don''t think the sky or fluorescence could produce magenta, you might see reddish/ pink sparkles with fire or coloured light sometimes but not overall/Date: 6/28/2009 1:48:41 PM

Thanks for all your replies. My diamond, though, does not look blue at all. Is it possible to have a diamond that fluoresces light violet?
Could a reflection of a blue sky produce a magenta hugh? I''m just not sure how that would work...the paperwork says it''s non-fluorescent....could both GIA and GCAL be wrong?
An error is, of course, always a possibility but GIA and GCAL are both capable and reputable outfits. I think your risk that they both screwed up on exactly the same thing is extremely low and it’s reasonable to rule this out.Date: 6/28/2009 1:48:41 PM
