I don''t know which time I cried more for Mazie .... these tears are joyful! I am so happy for the news! That little sweetie is a trooper!! Woo Hoo! What a relief for all.

You are doing a wonderful thing to support your daughter and gkids...in this divorce situation. She did come first or she wouldn''t be there. Second of course is your new family...and that includes your latest child who just happens to have four legs...hold fast to your decision and worry not about her (daughters) happiness at this point.

It is utterly unbelievable to me that she would vocalize anything but understanding after this ordeal. This home was this little dogs territory...it was invaded...and the result ended terribly. If you would allow me...I will gladly come kick her butt for you! I am sure I can change her unhappiness to understanding in one direct contact. I am kick butt for hire-free of charge.

Don''t anguish over your eviction notice another minute. It is now a time to "heel".

HI:

Such good news! Healing vibes your way!

cheers--Sharon

I am glad Mazie is going to be able to see, Linda, and I am sorry for whatever trauma occurred. I read this thread first and will have to look for the other thread describing how her eye was injured (presumably by your Labs). I am sorry she suffered. My heart goes out to both of you.

Hugs,
Deb

So happy to hear that Mazie is home and has the sight in her other eye!! She will adapt to her new visual world in no time. Animals are so very resilient.

Sorry to hear about the family discord, but it is Mazie's house, (and your's too of course

) and she is more vulnerable than ever right now. I am sure your daughter will understand, in time, that this was the only choice you could make.

So happy to hear that your precious pup is okay!!!

i am so glad mazie is on the raod to recovery!

Excellent news! She will fully adjust in no time.

I am sure it was hard for you to have your first look at her with just one eye. It is sad. But keep in mind, dogs have no vanity and she doesn''t mind how she looks one bit. You''ll both be adjusting to the situation.

I am really happy for you that she is ok and that she can see. Wonderful news that she is home.

Your daughter is going through a lot and that is why she can only see her side.

Thank you all again. Mazie is OK, just having to adjust with one eye. She is sleeping a lot and just healing.

Beacon: The Labs are always after Taco too, my Ringneck. That is another reason we have to find them another home. Taco isn''t safe either. When they are around, I can''t let him out of his cage and he has a fit about that.

Linda

Linda here is that link about the harp music I told you about. Harp I think I will start a thread on it in family. Glad she is settling in to peaceful rest. I hope the rest of your family finds that place too. §

Thats good to hear, she should be feeling a lot better soon, bless her heart. How are you doing Linda? I know how painful this stuff is when our furbabies get hurt or sick, so take care of you.

Thank you DKS and Lorelei. DKS, I will take a look at that website.

Lorelei: It is painful for Rick and I to look at her sweet face with only one eye, but we will adjust too. We both just feel so sorry for her. She absolutely hates having that cone around her neck.

she will get used too the cone soon enough, a friends dog growing up had one eye and had a happy and fun filled life for 12 years after the accident.
They are very adaptable.
Glad too hear the other eye is ok. :}

Hi Linda,

Sorry I didn''t get back to you sooner, I had company all weekend and couldn''t get online until tonight.

I am so happy to hear Mazie came through her surgery like a trooper and she is back in your loving home. I am sure being around those who love her is the best medicine and she will be as good as new soon.

I''m sorry, too, that your daughter isn''t being compassionate about what happened...I find it very unreasonable of her to expect anything less after what occurred. Know you are doing the right thing for you and Mazie, and your daughter will adjust.

Please let me know if there is anything you need...we are all here for you.

Continued prayers and healing thoughts coming your way.

I know how hard it is, as the eye area heals it will look better. I know how you feel. I found one of my cats outside with his leg twisted a few years ago, when I had outside cats. We rushed him to the vet, the cruciate ligament was badly damaged. The vet tried to fix the leg, and we nursed him for some weeks, but it was evident that the leg wasn''t healing, so we made the decision to amputate it. It was very difficult, it was a hind leg and it looked terrible, but once the incision healed, he was bouncing around all over the place and could do everything he did before with gusto!!! Your baby will adjust fine, as will you and Rick, it will just take a little time for the shock you both went through to wear off, but you will feel better once you see how well little Maisie will do and the cone will be off soon! They always hate those things.

Hope she''s still recovering well!! She will get used to the cone-Amber had to wear one a couple of years ago when she had a cancerous lump removed and her sutures kept breaking. She was uncomfortable for the first three or four days and then she was fine. Hope you''re doing ok yourself also.

So glad to hear such great news!!! My parent''s dog went blind at age 7 due to glaucoma and he adjusted amazingly well (he''s now 13 years old! He uses his nose as a cane - it''s so precious. We felt just awful for him in the beginning, but he''s such a little trooper. Having one eye should be fairly easy to adjust to since her sight is still there. She''s in my prayers for a speedy recovery!

I''m so sorry to hear what happened, but so glad she can still see out of her good eye. It may take her awhile to get used to the altered depth perception and for the good eye to compensate, but I''m so glad she can see. Head bonks from my kitties.

Poor baby!!! I''m so glad that she will be okay, she will adjust to one eye and in a few months will probably not even notice it is gone, animals are amazing that way.
Please keep us posted on her continued recovery

Thank you so much PoshPepper,

She is resting a lot. She is getting very spoiled. Will not eat, unless I hand feed it to her. LOL. They learn very fast, don''t they???

lol-the amount of dogs that I have to nurse after ops that only eat out of my hand. They''re not stupid are they?!!

Hi Bee,

LOL, no they are not. Mazie has a hard time seeing with her good eye, but she will get used to it. None the less, she could eat by herself. She just doesn''t want too. ha ha ha ha.

After her surgery, we had to hand feed her, so I guess she decided she likes it.

Hi Linda,

I''m so glad to hear Mazie is doing better! I hope you are feeling a bit better, too. Just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you both.
