Hahaha...I''m glad you like her, JenniferB! She''s basically the cutest cat in the world, if I do say so myself! She''s tiny, but that was the tiniest shoe box and she was being hilarious laying in it with her ruff hanging over the edge!

Anyways, I really do think your diamond would be awesome in a dainty halo...or you could bust out and get a super intricate setting like DeeJay''s Jack Kelege. She has a 3.36 RB, I think, and it looks amazing in the halo setting. I say do what you want, but I do love the setting you have right now!

one with a spark...

Thing2of2 - I just searched DeeJay''s ring and it is magnificent! (I can''t wait until I get to the point where I can know all your rings and not have to look them up!) --- I LOVE that fleur de lis looking thing on the sides - this is exactly what I am looking for.

DeeJay - if you are in here please tell me more about Jack Kelege and your experience...I am SO interested in this, also, because they would have to find a fedex box big enough for my ga-donka-donk to fit in while I held the stone through the mail systems...I think that is great that they can do that? Is what they need on the GIA report (numbers wise)? Did you design it yourself or does he have templates to work from? Please respond

I wouldn't change a thing; however, your're the one who needs to be happy with it. Good luck making your decision.

What finger size are you? Your e-ring looks HUGE!

I was seriously thinking of setting my upgraded e-ring 3.02 carat in a thin halo setting, but fellow PS'ers talked me out of it

. Just for purely selfish reasons, he he, I say you go ahead and halo that rock. I want to see what it'd look like on your finger

Jennifer - Thank you for asking about my ring! Kelege has literally a three ring binder full of designs to look at, and if you can't find one that you like from the selections they will mix and match pices of certain rings so you can have exactly what you want. Unfortunately Keleg's website is under construction so there are only a few things on there to look at, but find a jewler in your area that carries Kelege (you can call the phone number on the site and they will direct you to one) and look through the binder. Nordstroms also has access to Kelege so you could go there and look at the binder if there is no local jewler, but I would suggest NOT ordering through Nordstroms because you'll pay full boat whereas a local jewler may give you a better price.

One word of advice: My jewler talked me into having Kelege make the setting based on the GIA cert and then setting the stone locally. DON'T DO IT THAT WAY! The whole thing had to go back to Kelege, stone and all, to get him to laser in new prongs and reset the stone because of the terrible job the local guy did.

One other caveat: I was not 100% satisfied with every aspect of the "customer service experience" with Kelege, although I have to say much of that was the fault of my jeweler. The ring had to go back to Kelege twice to be "tweaked" and if I hadn't stayed on top if it they might have taken much longer than they did. There's nothing worse than sitting around wating for your ring to come back, LOL.

Bottom line though, I have a ring that I love more all the time and I'm so glad I went this route!

ETA: About the shipping, there are dollar limits in terms of Fed Ex and USPS shipping (not exactly sure which one you are considering) that your ring probably exceedes given the size, so make sure you explore your options before you ship your ring off without adequte insurance. My ring ended up going via Brinks truck, and I'm not sure what the cost is on something like that because the jeweler and Kelege paid for it, but look into that option too.

Cool heart prongs! I also love that garnet ring. Have you ever tried cleaning the ring in an ultrasonic?

LienTN, Thank you! Ah! I''ve got a fellow halo lover confronted by the smart rationale of the PS''ers! The e-ring is a 5.25 and it is too big, it does that side sag all the time and I usually use my wedding ring as a stopper. My wedding ring (and my true finger size, despite the sausage looking swollen digits in the pics) is a 4.75. DH wanted a little give in the event I became preggers with DH-baby that we had a little space to work with on the resizing, sometimes the head part will be compromised on a ring with a lot of detailing if there is not enough metal to begin with on the bottom is what Tacori told him.
The other thing I''m worried about (I know this is kinda dumb) - but what if I put a halo on it, love it for awhile etc, then take the halo off --- omg will my ring seem SUPER shrinkage to me then? It would be like mega-torture then, right? Your ring (and earrings
31.gif
) are just beautiful....they have a wonderful sparkle to them! Off topic, but I''m 1/2 Vietnamese and just left you a reply in the (old, I know) What are your reading 2007 topic.

DeeJay - thank you for your detailed response --- it is that kind of attention that makes PS go round and a great place to be. I am in SoCal so I could go over to Kelege''s place (it says he is based in LA on his site?). I am WAY too nervous about parting with the stone, as idiosyncratic as that may be!, that I have to be able to have it set locally. So I loved the idea of building it off the cert...I am sorry your experience was not flawless, but it looks like it all worked out in the end...the ring is truly magnificent and I bet you catch people staring at it all the time! Thank you for the tip on Nordstrom''s I might have to get over there this week to see some of these bad boys in person...

I am going to take my time (and not rush and be impulsive as per usual with me) and really study all that these designers have to offer - so I - hopefully! - will not want another reset for our 2 year anniversary! lol

Thanks- the hearts are DHs favorite part. Yes to the ultrasonic ---
29.gif
--- it helps but it is not perfect, I have the steam cleaning machine that I got from my jeweler too - the one that blasts the steam and that still just helps the situation - not cure it.
15.gif
. The best for me is a combo of the above - AFTER a soak in vinegar - that is my best trick yet.

Whoa! What a collection you have there! All of your rings are GORGEOUS! And your e-ring... I am really drooling all over it!!! Thank you for sharing the photos with us!

Your finger size is tiny too. In fact, yr fingers look beautiful, long and slender.

I''m not sure that you''d want to un-halo the ring, though I know what you mean
3.gif
. I think halo settings tend to be quite costly and if it were me, i wouldn''t un-halo it. Just a thought.

I''m gonna post a reply to yrs in the other thread.
