it started when we started being bf/gf online, after being friends for almost 4 years.
after a year of trying to get time, money i was finally able to visit her for the first time. During that time, we went to yellowstone for a day, taking many pictures of course
so then i moved to live with her in mt at the beggining
of september.
then it was almost christmas, so i needed a gift for her. so after some thinking, i decided to take one of photos we took at yellowstone, and have it turned into a paiting. i used the site

and they did an incredible job! (i highly reccomend them if you want to give a creative gift)
..so now closer to present. i started looking around at rings, found one i liked-showed her it, and she really liked it too. the place that showed it was on the expensive side. so i started asking around for people to see if they apphd make one like it, and price it. while to sum it up, all the local stores could make it -and looking to lower the price of it-using a white sapphire instead of diamond- was going to be over 1900 (now imagine what there price if that was a diamond). so then i decided to try and forums about ring buying, and ended up finding this one, where i saw some people had good things to say about james allen. So after emailing him, he offered 500 to make the setting(and then the centerpiece seperate). well after asking him many questions, and seeing him beat out other companies with his answers. and trust me-he had to have a lot of patience to deal with me because i wouldn''t stop emailing back to ask questions
so after battling between a bigger ring setting (That looked exactly like picture) with white sapphire (where he would have had to raise the ring base price so he would make a profit) , or getting a diamond that fit my budget while sacrifing the ring base''s size, i went with the diamond.
i made a list of diamonds, and he helped pick the best one out of those. so then the ring was purchased-but i didnt tell fi it was (we already knew geting married thou, because i suggested a date and so the process got started wtih that-arleady booked place for that date)
so in 2 weeks, and little over aday i got it. it came while no one was home.-i was actually ready to take my clothes off in bathroom to take a shower..so i was like PHEW! close call! hehe
so then we get to the part where i should mention i work for her mom (shes the local manager). she works m-t for the morning shift, andi work f-s at that shift.
so her mom got called to billings to work because like 5 people quit there at once.-so she needed to be filledin for during the week she had to go there (last week). so i volunteered to do one of those days, and take one of my weekend days off (that way i could spend it with my fiance). so i took saturday (yesterday) off.
earlier this summer we were gonna go to yellowstone when i had a day off, but it ended up being a rainy/cold day, so we didnt bother.
so i casually asked if she wanted to go yellowstone saturday since we didnt get to before. so after making it seem like i was kinda indecisive about going-we left for yellowstone yesterday morning. and of course, on the way there, the radio played the song "people wait a lifetime for a moment like this" -which i dont think a song could speak more about an engagement then that. hehe
so, needless to say, she suggested we should go to particular spot first since it was farther away then the other stuff. and that happened to be the spot i had in mind!

so we got there-the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone-and parked. we walked over to one path, and it wasnt the right one i was looking for..so we walked down towards the next path, and thats where i saw there was about 50 people at the spot i wanted to be! so of course i started panicking-because i didnt want the embarrasement of all the tourists around!!(and she woudln''t have wanted that either) so i grabbed her and said "wait" and hten she was saying "come on" and i grabbed her again and said wiat..but she said "come on lets go" then i said "but i just love you" and she said "and i love you too" i hadhe ring sitting in my right pocket and my right hand holding it. then i said "but i just want to marry you"as i put the ring on her. and she got a big schoked face and said want to marry you too
hehehe
so this spot, the grand canyon of yellowstone, is where the picture i had turned into a painting was taken, so it just made it perfect-because now that paiting has extra meaning to it and it will always make us remember it! people around us are also saying thats the perfect spot because it''s so romantic there. if you''ve never been there (i''m sure most on here havn''t) -picture the "grand canyon" in arizona, and then add a waterfull to look at in your view-and thats the grand canyon of yellowstone.
